Ask the moderators to stick stick your post into the 'Where to get parts' thread.

In my '64 CJ5 (all original equipment), I go by the owner's manual: GL-1. I get gallon bottles at my local NAPA store. Works great and safe for all metals used inside. (remember, Your T90 shares the lube with your T18 xfer case) and the GL1 is safe for both.

What I’ve learned from this site is that GL5 will KILL your transmission (yellow metal) When I get to changing all the fluids, it will be GL4. Smart???

To be honest it depends on the manufacturer but GL4 is guaranteed safe & is likely to result in better shifting.

I have run plain old Walmart 85-90 GL5 for about 6 years now with no ill effects. I started using it before I knew about the GL4/GL5 thing. It does say "safe for yellow metals" on the back.

That said, I am about to change it out and I bought 90W GL4 at Rural King to replace it. They just started carrying it. It comes in a 2 gallon jug for $23. Doesn't get better than that.

I checked their website and while they do list a Harvest King brand 80W-90, it is GL5 and not the GL4 you want.

    Was it something else?

I couldn't find it on their website either, but they have it in their stores. Here's the jug I bought recently:

    Outstanding.

I guess this lube is the low cost winner of the thread. ;)
    Wonder who manufactures it?

The regular motor oil under the Harvest King house brand is made by Citgo. Can't say for sure about the gear oil though. It says "Midco Distributing" on the back, but I'm not sure if that means anything.
