I did something similar back in... (the back of the photo says) Nov, 1996. I added a bead across the front with bondo. I took it one step further and trimmed the edge of the lip so there was only about 1” left, for a high-line fender, back before it was cool.

I was running 33s with no lift; I had little choice. My tires were eating my fenders.

I'll second the AMC V8, 304 or 360. Look at the side of the engine block near where the engine mount bracket attaches to see what the engine is. The 3 digits will tell the engine size. You never know, that could be a 401!
Yes, a T14 could have been native behind a 304, and likely has a D20 transfer case.

I'll check for those numbers on the motor and verify the trans. No past experience with AMC V8's. Most likely Sunday. Definitely a D18. Both axles are offset and a Warn OD. I'll try to turn it over too

    It's got a 4 bbl carb, could very well be a 360 or 401. Or a 304 with a manifold swap....
Didn't all the v8 Jeeps have the T15 trans?

Yes but none came in 81” Jeeps so we’re looking at a mutt one way or another. The T14 provides a translation of generations without adaptation.

If you have a AMC V8 - T14 - Spicer18 in an 81” Jeep, I would keep it that way. That is an awesome setup.

    It's a 360 with a T15 bolted to a spicer 18.
Unable to turn the motor over by hand. I'll pull the plugs and see if I can get a wrench on the crank shaft. But then again I'm not really interested in a V8. Might be a boat anchor

4350 4V carb; 360 could have come with a T-15 originally but the input shaft would need to be changed to the short shaft used in the CJs for it to fit in a CJ. More likely it was put together in pieces; original Dana 18, T-15 from a '72-75 CJ, 4V 360 from a '75 or newer Wagoneer or J-truck.

The 4350 has a unique base pattern that only works with that manifold, and vice-versa. Not a bad carb, but no value there. Somebody might want a 360 core.

Prolly either a Big Hole S18 or someone built one from a Dana 20. Either way, the trans and tcase certainly have value.

Bottom line is if someone wants/needs a 360 core 1/2 rack of Irish Death , you pull and it's yours. Starter, alternator, power steering, etc. brackets were long gone when I got it. Does not include trans and t-case
