First, my V6 dipstick is very hard to get inserted after the first few inches . The tube doesn't look bad at all but I got to push it pretty hard with 2 hands on the blade to get it in (That's what she said). Is this a typical issue? Is there a easy known fix?

Second question is about where the stick ends. When I had the oil pan off I noticed the stick stopped right on the top of the oil pickup.
    Is this correct ?

I can only answer the first question. On my Dauntless v6, the dip stick slides into the tube with next to no friction. Fore finger and thumb around the top hole of the dip stick to guide it in.
Have you checked the tube for damage/dent that would cause such resistance to insert the dip stick? Definitely not right.

Shouldn't the dipstick go to the bottom of the oil pan? That would be the only way to get an accurate oil level reading.

I just had my pan off last week and it shouldn't hit the pickup.

I'm not familiar with the orientation of the oil pickup tube, but is it correctly located? The dipstick should clear it completely. Like others have said, you likely have a damaged dipstick tube.
