I bought it a few years ago. I think it was under $200.00

Here is a link to my build.

I think the '66 with the F134 still had vacuum wipers, but I think the Dauntless Jeeps had electric wipers for '66-up.

My wipers are electric, and from my research my Jeep is late 1966.

My V6 CJ-5 is an early '67, manufactured in August of '66. It has (single speed) electric wipers also. Here's a photo of the dash:

Kaiser Jeep added the electric wiper switch just to the right of the hole that was initially used for the vacuum line, and was later used for the wiper wiring harness.

If I'm not mistaken, the painted metal plug below the choke knob covers the hole intended for an optional throttle knob.

Here's my dimensioned drawing of my dashboard.
    1966 CJ5 V6 Dashboard_2nd Draft with Dimensions.jpg
I plan to cut this out on into spare cardboard on our laser cutter and see how it matches up against the actual OEM dashboard, and make one more round of adjustments and then I'll try cutting and bending a metal one. At the end after I work out all the kinks, I plan on sharing the file here for anyone who wants it. Given that Double D makes such an awesome product for ~$300, it's probably not worth the effort and time to make your own but I like the idea!

I'd love it if you guys took a look first as well, I welcome any feedback. The blue colored lines represent where the metal should be bent back after cutting. The glove box and steering column are going to be the most challenging parts. Are there supposed to be any holes cut into the bottom 5/16 fold-over? My OEM dashboard has about 30 holes in it on this section that are all over the place so I can't tell what's factory and what's Bubba.

There are holes/provisions for the hand brake, heater control unit, and the glove box door in an original dash panel.

while I admire your enthusiasm . there are plenty of used dashes , with less holes than the one your replacing
    55 dash - Copy.JPG

this one has a few extra holes , just no extra 2" gauge or radio . small holes are a easy fix

I think I'm going to go with a new Double D dashboard based on the above recommendations and that I have failed to successfully fix mine. Welding up holes in sheet metal and making them look great is something I'm going to have to spend more time getting good at.

Dan sent me this drawing, I'd love if others with 1966-1967 V6es could take a look and see if he has this right.

When I compare this to @maurywhurt 's dash (post #24 above) it looks like we need to add a hole on the far left for the vacuum/electric wiper wires so there's a hole for the wiring and the switch/knob.

Just to be clear, the same 7/8" +/- diameter hole used for the vacuum line for the wipers (up through at least late '66) was later used for the wiring harness for the electric wipers to pass through. On the models with electric wipers, a 3/8" +/- diameter hole to the right of the 7/8" hole accommodated the electric wiper switch.

I’m pretty sure this is the way my dash was (although not sure if it’s factory for my Jeep). But I have electric wipers (see thread in Resto/Research) and an original windshield so I’m going to have Dan put in the second hole.

Are your electric wipers single-speed or two-speed? The reason I ask is that the single-speed wipers (having a two position switch, i.e. on/off) were only used for a short period of time between very late '66 / '67 and the start of the 1968 model year, when two-speed wipers came into production. (My '67 that was manufactured in August of '66 was probably among the earlier Jeeps to have them installed as factory items.) If yours are single-speed, there's a very good chance they're either original, or were upgraded from vacuum to electric when your Jeep was fairly new.

FYI, the center-to-center lateral measurement between the larger and smaller holes is right at 2":

Thanks for this thats awesome! My wipers are Electric single speed on/off. Don’t have that cool knob though, it’s a silver push/pull knob, guessing unoriginal.

You'll find some helpful info re. the switch and knob in the following post. It links to to a rotary two-speed, rather than a one-speed switch - but that two-speed switch can be wired to work with the single-speed motors (the only difference is that the switch will have three positions, for off-low-high). The knob referred to is the same OEM knob pictured on my dash above. Walcks can make a single-speed wiper wiring harness for you.

    Manual Vs Electric Wiper?

Alternatively, you could use one of these two-speed rotary switches with six blade terminals, which are less expensive but should likewise work fine (though you'd have to experiment to figure out how to wire it to work with the single-speed motors): COLE HERSEE 75228-03 - Electrical Windshield Wiper Switch (#171) | eBay

That's a great deal for an NOS switch and knob. Based on the contacts, I believe that's a two-speed switch, but it could certainly be wired to work with single-speed motors.

I think the seller is the same guy referenced in the link in my last post above, Gary Pounds, who specializes in Postal Jeep parts.

1966 has vacuum wipers (I 'believe" 67 does too), as I removed mine for an electric setup.
I used the vacuum line grommet for the windshield washer jets and the power feed.

You'll also need the 4 oval holes on the top of the dash, or you'll not be able to latch the windshield in place.

Any chance I could ask you to post a pic of these, maybe with a tape measure in the picture?
