I'm getting ready to do my annual swing around the jeep including greasing, etc. On the speedo, I know there is an oil hole for a couple drops, but how the heck do you see to get to it other than pulling it out? I'm did drops when I originally put it in (NOS from bluemoonscooter on eBay) but how now?

The FSM says to use penetrating oil on the choke cable. What do you guys use to avoid attracting dirt?

I don't have to worry about generator as I had one of those Gener-ators or whatever and they are permanent oiled.

I had to take the one out when I helped a friend getting one out of storage

Stand on your head and use an oil can with a long extension.

My head won't help, it's lopsided. Long extension oil can is on unauthorized long extension leave of absence.

When I was installing it, I could see down thru the slots under the windshield where the defroster vents normally go, which I guess is an option until I actually get the vent installed.

All of which probably explains why most were seldom, if ever, oiled once they left the factory. My 55 wagon has the cable disconnected at the guage and the cable spins fine when driving. Most likely same issue, just haven't pulled it to look.

Unbolt the dash and remove all bolts except the two bottom outside ones and tilt dash out to see top of speedo. I use syringe and put about 4-5 drops of sewing machine oil.

JMO - does the TSM say to lubricate the speedometer? I would leave it alone if it's functioning properly. To me, that seems like something you'd lubricate once a decade, if ever.

I have always just greased up the speedometer cable and then just reinsert it.
