I don't know how your clutch feels, but using mine would blow out my knee it's so stiff. Can anyone recommend a good clutch?

I'm trying to get my parts list going for this summer.

    Thanks in advance.

What do have on there currently? Stock linkage? How far do you depress the pedal to operate it?

Going to an AA chain controller or hydraulic conversion will help alot. I used to get cramps in my foot...

I’m not sure on the splines and whatnot yet, but people are replacing the Roxor clutches with harder ones when the go with higher power tunes. If they are compatible, you might be able to score a brand newish soft clutch for free.

Diesel Freak might have a small pile of em laying around by now. They’d be a good call to get into on it: diameter, splines and input diameter.

Clutches are built for a given Horsepower , torque and weight of the vehicle in sq. inch's of area and friction material.........I would doubt a Roxor clutch built for a 60 HP / 144 ft lbs Diesel would do much to hold back a Buick V6 at over double the HP and probably also a little heavier .

Sounds more like a linkage ( Pedal Ratio ) issue............as the standard pressure plate for a Buick V6 is already pretty calm..........could be the ratio at the fork also which is 2:1..........Basic pedal ratio for a mechanical clutch......is about 6:1 at the pedal.......see drawing below........check it out........and make sure there is no binding of any joints along the path of the linkage.........a little lube along the way also helps.

Bought mine at local FLAPS, just their budget stock replacement.
My 8 year old son drives it, it's easy like a new car.

Might want to look at your linkage. Do you have a cable or the tube style? Whenever I have had trouble with hard clutches, its been fixed a lot of the time with a repair of whatever actuates it.

I just replaced mine with a LUK from summit racing. Much nicer push then the old borg and beck that was in there.

I have a luk its a little stiff. There is plenty of throw so i thought i might drill a new hole in the arm to make the leaverage better. I drilled through the frame to hit the arm in the right spot but the drill bit wouldnt touch it. Must be hardened steel.

I have a centerforce in my 73 with a 304. Swinging pedals, seems easy for my middle-age knee. Not the race clutch that is basically an on-off switch, but the mild version. One is red, the other gold. I got the whimpy version.

    Centerforce makes good sh#%.
Ant cheep, but had 1 in my 500hp 401 gremlin.
Weighted pressure plate, the more u spin it, the harder it clamps.
Never slipped, even with street slicks!
Easy to push as my Camry!
