62 with a F134. History - someone disconnected the fuel pump and used an electric, but left the pump in place, it's a dual gas and vacuum, also the jeep has electric wipers. The question is do I need pump vacuum? Tracing lines, there is manifold vacuum and a tee near the PCV. I was just going to remove the pump line at the tee and plug it so I can use a non vacuum fuel pump, doing away with the electric one. I'd thing manifold vacuum is enough for the PCV and I don't see vacuum anywhere else, so will it work?

The vacuum pump was to assist vacuum operated wipers, since you now have electric wipers you don't need it.

I have two F 134 motors, the one in my Jeep is a 1952 Army surplus NOS motor I found around here. It was a shout block, so I used the parts form a motor I got from the PO that had spun bearings. I had the head re-built valves ,guides, and springs, and put it on the new motor, the PCV was on the intake manifold below the carb, and the side valve cover was like an L head. The other motor had the PCV on the side valve cover and it had an adaptor with a big hole in the side valve cover. I have no idea what year either motor is, but I got two titles from the PO and they were both 1964 titles.[IMG]

Howard Eisenhower - my thoughts too. I'll just plug the tee where it went down to the pump. I had another 61 years ago, it had vacuum wipers but no vacuum pump, that I remember, it had a pump with a prime handle. The reason I remember is the cam lever broke and I got a few miles by hand pumping. Then that wasn't going to get me home so I had a jerry can, I tied it to the passenger side windshield, stripped the vacuum wiper hoses out and made a siphon to the carburetor fuel feed, that got me home.
