001-warn-winch-8274-ejs2016.jpg I originally mounted the Bellview to the Land Rover bumper on top.
I was not too happy with it being that high above the bumper because of airflow and quite frankly it obstructs the look of the grill.
I have been looking over pictures of WARN 8274s mounted to the bumpers with the fairlead in the middle of the bumper. I have a gist of how to go about making it, but i do not see in any pictures is where the winch lower mount bolts go attach to the bumper. The picture attached shows the upper bolts installed but the lower is behind the bumper. I am guessing the open C channel bumper just has a plate welded to it and the lower bolts have to be accessed from behind the bumper.

My question is, how do you mount it and if you have done a mount like this, do you have pictures of the mount location?

Dan, my Bellview sits inside the bumper just as you describe. I have what I believe to be an old Warn bumper actually. And yes, there's a plate welded into the back of the C Channel. The lower bolts go all the way through the front of the bumper, and I think its reinforced on the inside. There's a few simple ways to do that of course. I tried to post a couple pics but I get "uploads unavailable"....

Yes. The lower mounting bolts for the winch typically are also the ones that go through the fairlead. A sleeve inside the channel to the mounting plate is the best way to keep the bolts from crushing the bumper.

Seems to work well. Its my own design. I haven't really used it yet. I only tensioned the cable back on after I installed the Cable Tensioner. While spooling the wire on. It laid the wire down evenly with out help.

Great thread, I thought I had all the bugs worked out with my Belleview mount but going to have to rework the 8"x8" sq tube is not gonna work so I can sink the winch into the channel bumper like I wanted.
So found this thread and got some more ideas!! Thanks to all who posted pics

I am going to move my 8274 down using yall as inspiration, but I don't think I have enough room between my bumper and grill.
It looks like I will have about 1/4" gap between the electric motor and grill....is that what yall end up with? IF so, has that small gap not caused you any issues?

My winch body will be close but putting a tape measure shows 9 1/2" clearance and the Belleview winch housing measures 8 1/2" so I should have around 1" but we will see
