Im not going to do a build thread, instead im doing a diy mod thread.
    No particular order.
    First doors.
Built out of 1in x 1in square tubbing, I bought a bunch of this stuff from my local scrap yard
    on the cheap!
Thin plywood inserts held in by bead silicone caulk.
Hung on Stanley chrome 3.5 commercial door hinges, the pins drive out for door removal.
Latch is a trailer door foot boot, bout 12$ also have a strap that holds them open.

LED lights. My original lughts were beat up and broken up bad, so instead
Of buying original style I went LED. We have an 18 wheeler speed and custom
Shop hear called The Chrome Shack. They have at least 100 different style lights.
The tail lights are flat almost and kinda square. Rear signal is a clearance light, front
signal is some kinda truck light. All these were around 7-10$ as.
Headlights are H4s that came out of a customer's car who upgraded.
I put LED h4 conversion bulbs in them, bout 7$ea off ebay.
All lights are super bright and use hardly any current.
PS headlights are great off road, but a little too bright on hwy for on coming traffic.
Last pic is a backup light on a toggle switch , u would not believe how much I use this!
    It's a leftover fog light off a customer's job.

    Homemade bumpers
Again I used the 1in square tubbing
    Added oak bumper guards.
Clevis in center, front and rear.
Trailer hitch receiver, off center in rear.
Also tub to frame mount above rear bumper.
Brush guard, hi lift Jack mount, front bumper. 20180901_123613.jpg 20180901_123741.jpg 20180901_123646.jpg 20180901_123705.jpg

    Saganaw steering.
I'm sure this has been done before, but hears how I did it.
    Donar car, 1972 amc matador.
Steering box and frame spacer, complete column steering wheel to box.
And gas pedal, for cable conversion.
Had to buy 1 steering shaft to box U-joint to replace factory rag joint.
1/4in aluminum plate on firewall came out of junk pile.
It's a power box with looped line on it.
I cut up the original tie rods and made mine out of the 1in square tubbing.
It's a 3-1/2 turn lock to lock box, but because of pitman length and wheel
stops it only takes 2-1/2 turns to lock.
Through Speedo hole, 70s AMC sport wheel( I ordered a leather wheel cover and laced it on),
4in PVC cap below wheel on column.

    YJ spring conversion.
    Wall is 30in high.
    It was bout maxed out.
When climbing out to take pic , would almost rock on right front, and left rear.
But it ant just bout flex, I can fly through the farm fields(tromped by cattle) in 3rd gear low range.
It's soft kinda like an atv.
I'd highly recommend it to anyone considering new springs, could even go with stock height?
It is a job to weld spring hangers on,(best done on bare frame) but can be done without removal.
I measured a stock YJ for spring hanger distance between shackle and solid mount,
Worked out well as shackles are almost straight up and down.
Also try to get axle close to where it was, it ok to stretch wheelbase a tad, but much more than
    1in causes driveshaft length problems 20180904_144925.jpg 20180904_145036.jpg

1in square tubbing, it was an old China atv steel shipping crate, free at local atv shop.
Weld up any style u want, as ling as it fits cutout in tub.
Thin plywood or paneling,or whatever for filler, just cut it tight fit and I used silicone caulk
    bead to hold in .
Your choice of hinges, I like drive out pin door hinges.
Trailer door foot bolt, spring loaded, with matching cutout hole in door jamb.
Ball bungee under hood to hold open if desired.
    They weigh bout 8lbs ea.

Bolt in bars made out of 1in tubbing, warped in pipe insulation foam.
Top bows made from 1/2 emt thin wall conduit.
With pipe split Insulation on them also.
Bows zip tied to main frame.
Tarp folded over 3/16in smooth rod and slid into channel above wwindshield.
Streched to rear tailgate with straps and bungee.

And last pic, Warning Polk berry crop did well in TN this year, son got em all over him!

Like the look of these old jeeps without aux lighting showing!
Also out of harms way! EBay 12.99$ link on my lighting behind grill thread.
Goina run hot straight to battery, and switch ground in dash with a toggle.
Beam pics tonight aft 1537638847807121089077.jpg 15376389181291455931030.jpg er dark?
Done it all without removing radiator.
Had a long 1/4in bit, so it wasn't too difficult?

    Jeep Lean????
Got tired of friends, neighbors, and even strangers, asking if I knew my jeep LEANED???
So I did the use what u have thing fix?
Had a couple short bottom springs from the 3 leaf RC spriing packs used during my build!
    Cut the bottom one.
    Well,it seems to have worked?
Used a 9in side grinder, cut the spring to bout 16in.
Installed on bottom of spring pack.
Put it all back together, looked close but didn't measure yet?
Took it for a harsh drive through the field behind house.
Back on concrete, got. The tape out, now she sits 1/8 in front,1/4 in rear ,higher on the driver side.
I figure things should settle over time? Seems to drive and handle just like before?
A tad less flex when I climb in?
Don't have to straighten her up now when I get out !
    Also weighed the 4 corners.
Drivers front 544lbs. Pas front 529lbs
    " " rear. 511lbs. " " rear 479lbs
Bathroom scale from ebay,(assume these numbers are correct at your. Own risk), 20180925_170135.jpg 20180925_204611.jpg
    This was after spring mod
Pretty close to 50-50 front to rear!
    2063lb total,(maby 20-30lb junk in tub)
1008lb pas side 1055lb dr side
47lb off center seems a bit small to cause the 1-1/2in lean it had?
I think the soft springs and the fact that I ran solo lots of time, on farm, beating
It up on cow trails, lead to the lean?
Hopefully, those same trails will settle the 1/4in high side over time?

Glove box, I built a floor and a wall, not a box.
It's huge all way to firewall, and pas inside fender.
    Original door and push button.
I made the thing it attaches to on dash.
