After putting the front end on this CJ7 I've been working on, I have some alignment issues. The tub is perfectly centered over the frame and the grill is visually centered over the frame, as well. The hood's gap to the cowl is slightly tapered, in favor of the misalignment, but it's still nowhere near centered when I close it - probably need 3/8"-1/2" of movement to get it there. The PS lines look to be keeping the radiator (hence, grill) from moving over any further - that's also moving the grille off center of the frame, but that may be a difference that has to be split. Suggestions?

What about cheating the front of the tub over just a little, like 1/4 inch. I think that it would multiply the distance moved at the grill. Along that line of thinking, if you moved the back of the tub the opposite direction from the front, the distance moved would probably be insignificant and impact at the grill would probably be very noticeable. You would only notice tiny tub misalignment with a measuring tape but the hood to cowl gap and grill location might stand out a little bit.

That's what I was thinking - the tub's going to have to be caddywampus on the frame ever-so-slightly to fix it.

I would guess the tub is out of square judging by the prior photos start at the grill and line the rest up till it is pleasing to the eye. The factory spec is pretty loose to begin with.

It's possible - the rear fenders both lean one direction about 1/2". Can't find obvious evidence it was ever hit, but it's not perfectly straight. The frame looked alright, but being a '7 you can't just look down the rail and see if it's true end to end.

just stabbing randomly, they cut it up to put rear quarters on it and had issues with the gate , its probably not square. the average guy wont notice it if its not on the frame perfectly square ,be aware of the wheel to wheel well they will notice that if its too far off,you will get it its all little compromises along the way.
