Intermittent Starting Problem

I had the same issue this past summer. Tell me if this next part is in left field or not. I thought the battery was dead , so I charged it, still just clicked. Checked for any exposed wires that might be creating a short, still just a click. Sitting there frustrated, I tinkered with my twin sticks on my transfer case to make sure they were in the correct location and viola, turned over and I haven't had any issues since. Does one thing relate to the other?

 

I doubt it,probably jiggled the Jeep enough that a broken-loose wire worked....

 

Nope. Must have been holding your tongue just right that did it.

 

Welcome from Ga. There is a possibility the negative battery cable is bolted to the tub only. During the 327 chevy transplant, the installer may not have run a ground cable from the tub to the frame. Make sure you have a negative (heavy cable) from the neg battery post to the engine block.
