Just took Willie down by a small creek and some back roads driving close to home. Getting more and more comfortable so will start venturing further from home.

I walked by two of my Jeeps, sighed that I couldn't work on them, and kept walking :(.

Yeah, that was my reaction to. Definitely one of the stranger things that's happened to me. He immediately offered to buy me a new hood. I haven't gotten on it yet.

If you remember from my Winch thread, I had a lever for PTO engagement. But that didn't work to well so I changed over to a cable today, routed it thru the firewall and down thru the trans tunnel. Then I dropped the PTO adapter to fix the front output oil seal. Shaft Dia is .875 and seal seat is 1.400 but the only seal I could find has an outer dia of 1.375. So I degreased everything, and used JB weld (Steel) to hold it in place. I get to reassemble everything tomorrow.

Early Musket season 2016.jpg Went out in the early muzzleloader antlerless season a couple weeks ago and put this doe in the freezer. Farm Jeep Willy's tire carrier came in handy.

Finally got around to building my gas tank (and trailer) and getting them galvanized. Installed gas tank yesterday, can now fill it through the gas filler neck instead of in the boat tank I borrowed from a friend three projects ago! Will put in pics of trailer and tank!

Today I bent up some Stainless Steel.
The last two trips to SoCal, I've noticed the floor is getting hotter than usual, I did put on a newer exhaust system, and that seems to be the cause. So I decided to put on some heat shields. I got these made today and was fitting them in place, when I was called away. :( I'll get back to it tomorrow.

Will add Pic's when Photobucket comes back online from Maintenance.

So I was at work today, I noticed one of our electrical techs left a Brady label machine laying out. Guess what I did? (I know the lights and wipers are marked on the knobs, but I wanted to be consistent).

Walked past the jeep several times. Neglected her.
Worked on some fishing stuff just feet from the jeep. Havent done anything like this since mid nineties...
Makings of a reel case for my fly reel.
Might be finished, but i dont have enough sheep shearling to line it with (on the way).

Like with everything else, carving this stuff when you fall out of practice (20 years) takes a bit to get back on the horse. Still fiddling with it.
Need to work on jeep, but this was a good distraction for a couple hours.

Weaseled the JEEP out of the garage, after filling up the leaky transfer case, past a dead Ranger that's in the way, and around the block a few times. First time this year. Didn't get to do any figure 8s to work the oil in. Gonna try to sneak it in to work tomorrow then, to a coworkers place after work, to test some things out and check some other things out. The brakes suck. Either need a few more miles to work in or bled again or something. They work but not real well. All back road travel for the run tomorrow so, I'm good with it.

Jim, I just need a A4ld trans for mine.......I think.

So, I drove the JEEP into work this morning. A little chilly but, fun. Then, took it to the coworkers place for the figure 8s. Not much room because all the fields are planted with wheat now. I'm not sure about this power lock up front. I'd need a half acre to do figure 8s with just the hubs locked. It's kinda wicked. Nasty wheel whip (keep thumbs out of steering wheel). Very hard to steer. Maybe that will improve as the power lock wears.

And, I'm gonna have to pull the locking hubs back off. Almost impossible to turn them. Had to use vice grips to turn them.......the cardinal sin. I had them working pretty good in the garage.

So, a not so good picture or two. Just a pose. No action.

Oh...and uh, I made the final payment on this.........

It was running 2 weeks ago. Now, it suddenly doesn't want to stay running. I think the fuel pump took a crap. I didn't spend any time looking at it. It won't come home until spring as I have no where to keep it at my house. Sitting on a cj5 chassis, V6, 3 spd.

A front axle full lock is way harder to steer than a open axle.

When i put the spartan on the front i started burning ps pump, never happen before, finaly put a ram assist along with a big oil cooler to solve that problem.
