Have a 74, it came with the one you find sold by omix, etc. I pulled the one on the left from a 73 in a junkyard. I don't understand how it would mount though with the footman loop in the way on the underside of the center of the windshield frame.... which is correct? 73 junker also had complete seat frame rails, and the unobtanium tilt passenger seat with all hardware to latch to floor and the little triangle loop. Score!

Can't tell you what the correct position is for the screw-on mirror. I've never owned a '74, but my '73 had that screw-on mirror, and my '75s both had the glue-on type. The '74-80 parts book says it came with a rubber ring on the outer edge. That mirror is listed for a '74, but the parts book says to order the later glue-on mirror as a replacement. So it seems it was phased out in '74.

My 74 had the glue on version. You can enlarge the pic to see it better.

do you have documentation that is factory? I know '76 up it was, and I could see late '75 as transitions were happening. The '74 windshield frame I have on my '59-5 is the type shown earlier in this thread that is screwed into the frame just left of the footman loop.

Here is mine from my '73. I believe it is factory correct, however, don't have documented proof. Footman loop is located on the mirror and mirror is located in the middle of the frame.

My '74 is pretty close to stock all over so I believe this is factory setup. I've even got the original hold-down strap on the footman's loop.

That's the right mirror, if you have the intermediate-style wipers and don't have the glue-on mirror.

image.jpeg 73 mirror. Placement is suspect because its a replacement frame and no footman loop.
