Don't have something worthy of its own thread? Tell/show the group what you built, fixed or maintained today.

This isn't a "Took it for a drive" thread...That belongs here - Show Us Your Jeep!

I got tired of the driver's side muffler hitting the bottom of the tub due to vibration at certain RPM's. I could have made a new bracket, but decided just to extend the existing one.

I also checked the air pressure in all the tires and double checked the lug nut torque since having the rear wheels off a few miles ago.

This is cool, there is a thread like this on the HRJA board that's over 520 posts and growing, I'll have to join in here too,
I was going to do a body off clean up, (did a full restoration in 99, and 17 years has done in my POR 15 attempt at rust proofing, it's coming off in sheets) But I just am not ready to put in that much work, and money. SS doesn't kick in for 2 more years so funds are limited. So I'm just cleaning things up putting on Extends from loctite and patching rust holes

Today I just applied the Extends. it turns the rust black then you paint over it.

hopefully I can get 2 years out of this and then do a proper 2nd resto.

Pumped up the tire on the six. It was flat from sitting and waiting patiently on me to work on her again.

I extended the table I am building my Tub on yesterday so today I leveled the floor section and the wheel houses on the table then I slide a sheet of 16ga that will become my new front floors under the Riser and got it squared up. I then cut back the old floor on the section of the tub that has the dash and firewall (think front floor and everything above the lower cowl sections) And I am now in the process of trying to get it all perfectly aligned so I can drill some 1/16" holes between the two layers and use them to locate my straight edge for a scribe line. Then I'll cut the new metal to match what I want to remove from the old metal. After that I will have to bend up some tunnel patches.

Set the throughout bearing up and installed the transmission. One item fixed and 4 more issues that need attention show up! Figures.

Went for a evening cruise with the top off and the wife joined me. Had a great time cruising around the back roads. Then I did an oil change on the jeep (y)
More cruising around for today, beautiful summer weather and blue sky.

    Looked at the battery charger.
Looked at the stuff on the hood of the Jeep.
Looked at the stuff on the ground in front of the Jeep.
    Looked at the fridge....
Yep, got a cold bottle of water.. and back indoors I went.

Got the '49 running, ordered some lights to finish electrical before bumper builds start.

Got the '51 close to ready for camping this year. Found a leak on the hydro clutch, trying to figure if it can wait till I do the whole pedal swap out next year...

Worked on the wife's '66 Mustang - she wants better steering, so I ordered a Rack n Pinion swap for it from Flaming River. Get that on after fixing the mess in her drivers door and score some major Willys Points :D

I mounted a license plate on the 55 I found on ebay.
    It's a montana farm plate.
It was only two bolts but I had to get the wrenches out. :)

    Edit it's centered now too.

been working on my Dana 27. Rebuilt a Power Lock. Had it installed with 4.88 gears. Finally got it back and now I'm putting the knuckles on. Had to grind on the balls on the ends of the housing today to clearance the button head cap screws for the knuckle stud conversion. Got both sides done this AM before it got too hot out. Then, started replacing the king pin races and bearings only to find that 1/2 of the set of NOS Timken bearings and races that I bought on eBay 3 years ago were actually old used Bower bearings put back in the Timken boxes. Todays progress ground to halt after getting one side replaced and the preload set to about 15 lbs with a fish scale. Now, I'll be waiting several days for the rest of the king pin bearings and races to show up. I've been chopped off at the knees at every turn on this project.

Pulled the accelerator pump off the 2g last night. The metal rod seperated from the plastic housing while in the carb. Need to find another. This one was supposed to be ethanol safe...

While waiting on my engine to be ready at the Machine Shop. I went over to my buddy's and gave him a hand assembling his FC150. Yes, Focker, the same FC150 I teased you with a while back. :p

We mounted the bed, fenders, tailgate, installed the rear glass and side glass in the cab. Fixed the alignment on the front cab and installed the aft cab mounts correctly. Here are some pictures:

If all goes well hopefully in about a month or two. When we do get Melonhead, that is the FC 150's name, moving under its own power I will take a video of it and post it.

Topped off the battery, aired up the tires, put some fuel in it and let it run for a bit. One day the stars will align and I'll get it back on the road.
