My starting is now fixed, it was a dodgy centre HT lead in the distributor cap.
Indicators now working, a snapped wire going into the relay.
Why the relay was hidden behind the heater is anyone's guess.
Just waiting now for some body parts to come from Peter Debella.
Next job to trace a bad connection to a side light, change sump gasket.

It's always interesting to see what is going on with Jeeps elsewhere in the world. I don't think I have seen a relay behind the heater for the indicators.
I do hit the HMVF site once in a while as well.
As has been said here often, check the ground or as you say there, the earth to the side light.
Even though my family has been here since 1783 I believe I still speak English.
A friend got my Harley Saturday and wondered if he needed his Whitworth tools to work on it.
A Harley can't spell Whitwirth. Sir James Whitwirh If I remember right.
I've only used one metric tool on it in the 18 years I owned the Harley. I have none of them Whitwirth things, only sockets up to 3 3/4" sizes
I hope you understand I am just giving you some crap and you hit a pub and have a beer for me.

All the electrics seem okay now.
And before I forget, hope you guys had a great Independance day!
Why anyone would want to give up British rule is beyond me!
Saying that, we have just voted against German and French rule but that is another thread!
