I’ve diagnosed my speedometer not operating to the gear/shaft at the transmission where the cable is attached. (attached picture). Where can I source this shaft/gear? How can this happen? If there any other damage I should be concerned about to get the speedometer functional.

Did you do the drill test to see if the speedo works?

Yes speedo works - Not turning from trans due to gear teeth are worn.

What about that little gear the cable fits into that rides on the gear you are showing?

you'll going to have to remove drum brake and yoke to inspect the other gear , finding another one you'll need to list your gear ratio in classified section

    What's the vehicle/speedometer history ?
Been working for 1/5/10 years ?
You just replaced the gear/cable and it quit working ?
The drive and driven gears have to be matched to each other/same series that work together.
It's possible if you replace with the same SW gear number it works fine....
It's also possible it gets chewed up again.
Either way, only way to know for sure is to disassemble and inspect the drive gear.

Speedometer worked until 1 year ago....Replaced cable and worked for 2 minutes. Both gears are original. I'll be pulling the Drum and yoke....Ugg! Thanks for the help.
