Ok, So I need to remote mount my oil filter on my '98 4.3 Vortec due to header clearance issues. Both the mount on the block and the remote mount use 1/2" NPT fittings. I need to run a 90* bend off of the engine side, possibly into the remote side, but could go with straight fittings at the filter if I had too. I was thinking of a -8an hose (roughly 1/2" ID) but keep seeing -10an or even -12an suggested. Granted, the sites I found all pertain to big blocks, but will -8an be sufficient? Getting ready to send Summit.com more of my hard earned overtime. Thanks in advance

On the 302 in my hotrod, I'm using -8AN with a high-volume melling pump, and have zero oiling issues, and that motor regularly spins up to almost 8500 RPM. I think -10 or -12 would just be overkill for a mild 4.3 build.

I used 1/2 hydraulic hoses with crimped ends. They thread in without extra fittings, 2 swivel 90 and two inline swivel

Awesome guys. Thanks for the responses. Looks like -8AN will do just fine. Other than headers, this engine is bone stock.
