advanced adapters chain clutch adjustment

    Just wondering how much play you guys have in your chain. I have it set with no play right now and the clutch engages almost all the way at the top. I beleive i have to loosen it a little but that will allow a little slop into the chain. Any advise? Did i miss something when installing?

    As you know there has to be free play so the T/O bearing won't constantly be spinning. I don't know anything about that set up but is there a way to support the chain so the slop won't cause it hang and still tend to engage the T/O bearing?

    I just loosened it a little and that helped. Couple more turns and it should be good.
    Just wasnt sure if there was supposed to be play or not on the chain

    As Glenn says, I think it's irrelevant as long as the TO bearing is off of the clutch fingers. You should be able to feel the fingers contact when depressing the pedal. Typically the pedal has an inch or so of travel before contact.

    Good question, I'm would hope he does of course. If the chain isn't heavy enough to overcome the spring tension it shouldn't be an issue, but is definitely something he needs to verify.

    What engine/transmission do you have? Advanced adapters catalog says it won't work with a stock F134/T90. If you call them they are not sure. I have not been able to get a definitive answer from anyone.

    Just set as everyone says, I run mine about an inch of travel. You don't want the chain to pull in when you start twisting the frame while off road.

    Bumping this old thread to ask about the alignment of the AA chain before I drill and bolt it to the frame.

    Should the two lengths of chain (pedal to sprocket and sprocket to TO fork) be co-planar? The way it looks to mount to the frame rail as manufactured would have the lengths of chain from the sprocket to TO in a different plane from the sprocket housing.

    The install directions suggest that the mount plate can be bent further, which would drop the housing below the frame rail and make the two lengths of chain coplanar - is this necessary?
