Good job on the 3B. Is that an early 6? Front bumper and frame horns look olive drab, military frame? What is your plan for it?

1956 cj6 ser # 10044. very early. gonna change the f head for a dauntless, otherwise it will be pretty much original. I do hope to put disc brakes on the front. don't know about the hard top. I have already rebuilt the t90, d18, d27, d44. engine should be back from machine shop soon so I can start putting it together. 10044 makes it the 44th one ever built if I understand correctly. 5.38 gears, so I might need an OD. if the budget will allow.

Looks like a nice project Jeep. Having 5:38 gears almost means an OD is manditory depending on where you drive it.

my 3b has 5.38 gears so I have an idea what that is like. wish I had the 4 speed with granny 1st and the OD. maybe some day. what is the raised area for that is just behind the hood hinge on the passenger side? I will have to find a cover for the snorkel outlet in the hood also.

If you are asking about the cover on the cowl, the military versions had a battery mounted under that cover. Early cj's retained the cover for a number of years.

Do your research on mating the T-90 to the Dauntless V6.

I have read the info on the novak site. had to change the input shaft to the longer and bigger dia, shaft. have the adapter and bellhousing. still need the clutch, throwout brg, and pilot brg. I sure appreciate the help. is there anything else I should expect to change?

Here's a couple pics of my 1953 M38A1 - after the rebuild. Just out of the shop, not off-road yet. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Are you sure about that? I think I see what might be some dirt or maybe it's a finger print?

Seriously - Looks good, I too like the fenders.

We started from the ground up. My buddy built a frame out of 2 x 4 square tube, then we took my original A1 and cut it at the door and rear wheel well. Then we cut a second tub - maximizing the flatter parts of the openings and joined the two together. The floor and bed were replaced with 1/8 steel plate. The front fenders were done by a local body shop, I did the rear body panels and wheel wells out of aluminum. A couple of beers, and a few "if you're doing this - why not do that" and we have the completed project.

I'll see if I can remember what we did: 37" tires on beadlocks, dana 44 front 60 rear with lockers in both. Spring over - 4" lift with 1 1/2" body lift. Chevy vortec 5.7 with TBI. SM420, Atlas xfer case. PSC power steering, 250 amp high output alt, on-board air. Warn 8274 winch. PRP seats with Simpson harnesses. 27 gal custom aluminum fueltank mounted over the rear end.
I'll get a complete list together with some build photos.
