So I was wandering around online the other day and I came across a listing for Buckshot mudders for sale. For those of you who have been looking, you know the Buckshots and Grip-Spurs have been out of production for over 15 years, so needless to say, this got me curious if these were old stock. I called the main office in Shreveport.

Gateway Tire out of Shreveport Louisiana put the Buckshots back in production. The manager said they are only making 2 sizes. They are some weird size, but basically they are 31x9.50x15 and a skinny 33" made for.......guess what!?......skinny 16" old school Jeep wheels.

There are listings on Amazon and craigslist from some 3 party vendor selling them with free shipping.

For those of you guys at the part of your build about to buy tires, please buy a set of these a post some pics. They are period correct 60's and 70's style tire will the grand canyon for tread depth.

    I snipped these pics offline

Oh yeah! Those were on Ole Blue until I wanted a street worthy tire. Those things will crawl through gumbo with ease. Brings back memories of the place where we used to duck hunt.

    They do come in a 15" like I said above. It's like a 31x9.50 on a 15" wheel

I used to rock a set of Q's.... 36" equivalent? Bought them in '98.

They wore like iron, they got horrible flat spots (and never warmed up enough to be rid of them when it was below freezing), were terrible in loamy soil, dug straight to the bottom of every mud hole, and they saw around 19 states in total. You definitely get your moneys worth out of them. I've been out of the scene for so long, I didn't even know they were ever discontinued?

I've got a new set on my jeep. They ride fine to me but I also don't expect a real soft ride. I put them on at the same time as my lift. The old springs rested on the bumpstops so I can't really compare. They did take a lot of weight to balance and I'm sure some will say don't bother.

Zoiks!!!! That IS a lot of weight to balance them things. They do look great though, no doubt. Love pizza cutters. As long as there is a bottom to dig down to.
