Sorry to bug, but I am 150 miles from home and I wanted to hit Industrial Metal Supply on the way back!

Does anyone know the dimensions of an early 5's frame, the forward part, between the front crossmember and the front bumper?

The frame width up front outside to outside is about 29.250" the center to center of the rails is about 27.500" .........from the front shock mount that is mounted on the frame just behind the leading edge of the front cross member to the front bumper mount is 18.125" ............If your buying steel a little extra never hurts.

That's awesome thank you. Can I also trouble you for the actual dimensions of the frame rail itself?

I am thinking it's like 3-1/2-inch tall, 2 inches wide!

I am going to look around for some rectangular tubing to replace the forward section of the frame rail when I get to one of my favorite stores!

I need to replace the forward sections of the frame rails, as you can see, they are broken, the prior owners just bolted on some angle iron for support!

Unfortunately I do not have an early frame here to tell you that...............If I remember that frame portion starts off wider at the back at the Radiator cross member and tapers down some just before it gets to the front bumper.......Not sure where you are in Cally but finding metal should not be a big issue anywhere in the state.............might want to get an exact when you get home.

Yeah, I'll just buy a few sections of rectangular tubing and see what fits.

Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.

    Have a great weekend.

My frame is 3" by 2" at the rear of the front shackle mount.
