Oh, I'm in there, I got no intention of giving up. I'm just little bummed of it not ending up where I wanted it to be. Its seems the KISS principle ran, ran, far, far away. I'm betting I'll like it much better though when the finished project is running Fins & Things, Cadillac Hill, Truckhaven, or towards Telluride. I plan on adventuring the snot out of this little Jeep.

Let me know when you are ready for Cadillac. I'd be happy to run it with you.

Pulled the body wiring harness from the YJ, the heater box and ducting. Cleaned up the YJ dash, and pieces, got everything out of the YJ. Start dismantling the CJ5 dash tomorrow. Need to make a small bud shaft to fit the YJ steering column to the CJ5 intermediate shaft. The shaft length is similar to the Postal steering column I'm removing. The dash pad fits in well between the A-pillar roll bar legs.

OK, back at it. along with the rest of the YJ donor pieces, I'm also going to be using the YJ steering column. I'm half there on using the YJ heater and controls. The main issue, is there is no vent on the cowel, and I don't want to cut one in, so I may use ALL the Yj dash, heater defrost ducting also. Picking up a replacement wiring harness and computer today off a Craigslist ad. Its the whole package, this way I won't have to mend what I cut out of my harness trying to mate it to the EZ harness. Should make wiring and hook up a plug and play situation.

CJ dash is out, the only item on the firewall is the Summit heater.

Well, that "whole" wiring harness was not whole. Made another trip, and picked up a complete '92 wiring harness engine and chassis system. So all should be plug and play with respect to the engine wiring. Unbolted the hard top from the body, so I can put the YJ dash and defrost ducting in place. Gutted all my early wiring out of the Jeep, and can now re-start from a clean slate.

I'm tempted to remove the passenger seat tool box, and mount the YJ high back seats in place of the low back seats. Will have to do some wheel house notching to do that effectively.

I need to post up some pics of the carnage.

All the engine wiring hookd up except for the CPS, Mine has a round plug, and the new harness has an oval type of plug, pretty common on the 2.5 and 4.0 engines different CPS plugs, had the issue with other engine swaps, just need to pick up anew CPS unit.

Glad it is going better.Being sick sux.

Glad the jeep is coming together man.

I was in that same spot, my jeep was stripped out.

I bought a marine 14 gang fuse block and ran all new wires on mine.

I ran all the wires down the inside of the frame rails, and made some quick connects at the firewall , so all I have to do is just unplug 2 wires and the body will lift off, I have zero wires attached to the body.

With all this engine wiring issues, my next Jeep IS going to have a V8, I have only owned one V8 powered Jeep that had a running V8, and that was a J10. More power would be fun.

I'm getting all antsy in the pants to get this up and running.

Its the last little bits you can get sloppy with, getting it done gets more important than doing it right.
