Apparently exhaust system for a V6 225 Dauntless is a rare thing!
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've tried Kaiser Wills, Walcks, my FLAPS, Morris 4x4, no one has any ideas other then a muffler shop, and I've tried them too, no such luck.
    Any suggestions please!!!

Only one other source I can think of... try Peter DeBella

Beyond that, your best bet will be a muffler shop, or piece together some side-exit pipes off of headers.
    HTH, good luck!

Are you trying to re-create the factory exhaust system? If so, your search will likely go on---

for a long time-if you want to find the stock pieces. The best bet is a good muffler shop which should be able to closely duplicate the system. Something you may want to keep in mind is if you want a rear tank, you may not want to duplicate a factory exhaust if it is the early V6 system.

Not a 225 but a 231. I could not afford the cost of a muffler shop around here. I think they gave me super high quotes just so the would not have to do it. I ended up buying a bunch of parts from Summit and making my own. Pics here: https://picasaweb.google.com/jzeber5/JeepExhaust#

Yo can find the muffler and I think one of the tail pipe pieces. Oh. The clamps too:D
I've got a guy half mile down the road that does exhaust out of his polebarn. Going to drive it down there in the spring with just manifolds:D

Yep, jzeber, at least you got a quote, shop flat put
told me, nope cann't do it,and I live in a small town so I don't have many options.
I was basically keeping it original, had to cut off the old muffler. The problem is the Y section that goes around the engine.
Haven't looked into headers yet, but if I have too in order to get a fit, I guess I'll have to do that.
Any suggestios on what brand and where to find some?
    thanks for the feedback

I got tired of the noise with the mufflers under the seats. I know getting old, oh well. I think the whole exhaust cost me about $30 and a 12 pack for my welder friend.

Headers - inside the rail block huggers - Novak. Outside the rail AA. Those are what I run.

Custom inside the rail with the block huggers. Super Trap setups from Summit outside the rail. You can tune them to make them quieter if you want.

I pieced together a system from extra pipes I had laying around . turned out perfect. the passenger side cuts down across to the driver side tucked in right over the skid plate. The only part that you would have trouble finding at a parts store is the flanged ends that meet the manifolds

Mckenzie - please let us know what you think. That looks like the most complete, ready to go set up I have seen. Did you order for the V6? Do you know if the system crosses from driver side to passenger with diagonal muffler and tail pipe exit to the passenger side rear (appropriate for under seat gas tank) or if it stay along the driver side and exits to the driver side rear (appropriate for rear tank)?

    thanks - James

Yes it is for a V6. Talked with someone there and they asked several questions, like where is the gas tank, how the exhaust manifolds dump, etc. It is suppose to be an original replacement. I will get some pics up when I get it.

I've looked into the AA headers, also hedman. The AA seems higher quality, but, Hedman headers are guaranteed for life. How have yours held up? I'm in middle of mc2100 swap, and Ive been on fence about which direction for exhaust.

The AA are much heavier than the hedman setups. I am running them on two rigs at the moment with no issues. One set is fairly new, the other pushing 10 years, they look like new and are on the rig I wheel the most (not so much the last year or so, but much harder before).

I've had the AA headers for a couple of years. Thick flanges, they seal up tight, and I've never had to tighten anything. I've not had such luck with the ceramic coating though. The cylinder that had the burnt piston overheated the primary tube and a big section of coating burnt off. The header on the other side has rust bubbling up under the coating in 2 places and a missing piece that I cant explain. Expensive coating. Kinda cheesed about it.

If that system works well that is much less expensive than the quotes I recevied at the local muffler shops.

i'm going to get the aa set of headers. i'm getting terrible mileage. the 2100 conversion has been somewhat of an improvement, although not as much as the 258 i did. do you have a link to your build? i'd be interested in the fuel injection swap at some point.
