    Gentlemen,
SandhillMike had a parts DJ when he was a rural route carrier, to keep his "real" delivery running. The parts DJ has no engine/suspension but the hood, grille & fenders are OK. I think it's 71-72 ish... Do these fit an intermediate CJ? I know the grille is unique (fewer slots), but its in good shape. The top/doors are rough. It s really just the front clip & if it fits others, I'll pull them. If there is any other parts of value on it, let me know. If not - its straight to the scrapyard - working hard to clean up his property.

    Thanks,
    49T&C

This has a bubble grille? If so, the hood and fenders are the same as the pre-72 CJs. They should be more valuable than intermediate fenders. The intermediates use the late fenders and hood, and are basically the same to the end of the CJ's run.

Steering column has value. Maybe the windshield? Other little stuff, like the parking brake lever, gauges... maybe the brakes? If it had a TF904 that mated to the Audi 121 I'd be interested. Hypothetically of course.

If it has bottom mount wipers grab the motor, cover, and all the wiper linkage including pivots through the windshield if in ok shape. These can be hard to find. Steering column is an easy way for someone to convert an Early to Saginaw steering. Grab the intermediate shaft also. Postal folks always seem to need the steering gear so grab that if serviceable. The small cover on the back floor for access to the fuel sending unit is the same as the under floor master cylinder floor cover so grab that. Check for 11" brakes. Grab those if equipped. The front axle if ball joint can have value to the sand/mud drag crowd.

    Thanks Nickmil,

No front or rear suspension, but I'll check for the rest.

Check to see if it has any of the fuel check valves, like the liquid check valve in the back. I just saw one of those little things go for $60.

depending on the age the wiper knob may be of some interest to early owners.

I'll be glad to come over and spend a day helping clean up. Just let me know when. Sundays are best. Still going down to the swap meet on first Sundays?

    Yup,

It's a little different without Mike. Its a little sad, kinda boring without someone to joke with. We used to make fun of people walking around carrying little dogs - "Look Mike, that poor little dog can't walk.." I am still finding our valve spring compressors & other little jeep goodies the G503'ers like - the little Eagle oil cans that fit the bracket under the hood of am MB/GPW, etc.

I go in for knee replacement surgery on Feb 4th (WOO HOO !!!), but the next swap meet is Feb 3rd, so I can go to that one. I will miss their " 3-day extravangza" in mid Feb. I should be OK to sell (stand & sit) for March.

The 3rd might be a good day to go for me as well, if you want the company....

3 day extravanga? Might be something to go to. A buddy of mine wants to see the car show/swap meet. We are looking at doing it for a fund raiser for Morocco Shrine Center. But we have our first gun show the first or second weekend in March. We are dong a gun raffle (Ruger riffle, .270 cal. at $5 per ticket, limit of 1000 tickets sold) so I don't think we can get to go in March.

Let me know if we need any specific tools to get the DJ apart. Lifts or air tools or what ever. Look forward to seeing you on Sunday. I'll call.

Yes, the 3rd would work, glad to have company. You decide if you want to come down with me - must leave earlier, or do you want to ride down with your buddy and just put your stuff out where I set up. Start putting things together that you want put out for sale there.

Looking forward to Sunday as well. Do you still need pedals? There is no power at Mikes any more - so no power/air tools. Although, there is a generator over there and I could drag over a compressor if needed. I think most stuff can be convinced to come off with hand tools. Put me down for one raffle ticket. I like Rugers and .270 is my favorite caliber.

    Thanks,

I took the Power lock Limited slip out of a Postal, the turn signal switch, rear view mirror and front bumper. The brake drums weren't 11", something smaller but I took the springs and adjustment cable. They have big heaters too.
