1 -I would like to know what is this piece up on the door mount, with one hole (red arrow right).

2 - On the same image you see (red arrow) screws with hexagoneal head to fix the roof on the windshield.

The holes are not in good conditions, do you believe that I can drill totally across the windshield mount to put log screws and fix the roof with bolt and nut across the upper part of the windshield.

3 - Other problem : I found no hinge support to fix the doors in the lower part.
So I need to find them, right and left.

I don't believe I can find them in France, but I can rebuild one.
Does somebody can send me a photo of this part, it is fixed with 4 holes.

It is very boring to fix an old Meyers hard top, I beleieve that it is better to keep it always and to get a Jeep without roof for summer...

Myers hard top are made of very thin metal sheets, it is very well made, the back door is good and it is not made to take off every summer.

To get it up, I fixed a hook so I can get it up easily, and put it in good position also easily. All this take a lot of time.

Pic one: The bracket looks like a light mount or something. My hard top was mounted, as you suggest, with bolts all the way through the windshield frame and nuts on the inside.

The lower door bracket is, sometimes found on ebay. Maybe someone here has a set for sale. Probably not too hard to fabricate. I don't have a pic of one, though. There should also be a limiting strap from the door to the body to keep the door from opening too far.

For the top mounting bolts/nuts I used something like these weld nuts with holes pop-riveted to the inside of the windshield frame with the protrusion to the inside cavity of the windshield frame:

I see you have a tip out safari windshield like the two that I have. Have you found a source for the rubber between the inner and outer frames of the windshield assembly?

Grip-N-Serts OK I have something like that.

My main problem is that it is a lot of work to install aMeyers hard-top. I suppose that on a CJ6 it is more work, it is so heavy.

The hook is a good solution because I can low it mm by mm to fix it. And to take it off it is easy. But I'll modify the screwing system because it is made to work once, not to be changed every year. The thread for the screws are too fragile.

Alan, they make a hoist system for Wrangler hardtops. I've often wondered if something similar could be made for older tops. The wrangler set up may even work for the steel tops. You'd have to, maybe, add some eye hooks to the top, or some kind of attaching hooks, to lift it.

Well actually its more like one and a half.... I have one complete missing nothing safari windshield that's on my cj5, I bought it off craigslist in Vancouver WA or it was Portland OR for $400 plus shipping. and the other safari windshield came with my jeep when I bought it and is missing the inner framework so doesn't open anymore, but if I find the inner frame I can make it ventilate again.

Well, I fixed a hook through the roof, and it works. I have to hide this under a canvas and some foam. The fact is that it is a lot of work to manage this hard top and all hard-tops.

It takes half a day. When all is in good conditions. Of course it is very pleasant to have a Meyer hard-top in good conditions, with the "safari" windshield, but I did not believed that it was so much work! I have to paint it well now.
