I have a 66 cj5 with the stock 134 it looks like it had a plow on the front, it also has a throttle cable on the dash right under the choke cable. what i need is a pic of what the linkage looks like. The throttle set cable is unhoked and I cannot figure out how it goes on, pretty sure parts are missing.

In Howard's last picture there, you can see the throttle cable below the choke cable.

His isn't hooked up, but if you look where the linkage is connected below that you can see a tab with a hole in it. that is where the end of the movable cable is connected, so that when you pull the throttle cable it pulls that tab and opens the throttle.

I see the tab , mine does not have that tab. however they way it looks , it seems like the hard cable going through that hole would casue the throtle/gas pedal to stick or bind. I take it that there is just a locknut/clamp on the end of the cable?

Just went out and looked at mine.

That tab on mine is used for the return spring.

Under where the linkage hooks up to the carb on mine, about an inch is another hole, and I believe that is where my throttle cable hooked up. On a small part that was there and is not now that if the throttle knob was pulled, would move the throttle, but if the knob was pushed in, and the foot feed was used that part would not move. Kinda a pivot and hook thing.

The throttle cable on mine was shot, so I removed it. About the only time I would use one would be to jump start some one else. I don't have a winch or PTO, so do not have to set my engine at any speed higher than idle. To me it is an un-necessary item.
