I recently ordered a T-14 rebuild kit from Herm Tilford. I was ready to start dis assembling the transmission and I niticed my main drive gear. To me it looks broken but as I look at it......it kinda looks like it is machined that way.

I am looking at the flat spot on the thin gear.

Please take a look and tell me what you think. Is it broken?

Not broken - made that way. I have seen that in both T14s I have worked with. Granted, I don't do much T14 work, so if I am wrong I am sure someone else will chime in.

    made that way
so you can pull the input shaft over the cluster and out the front if I recall
I'd be more concerned about the condition of the teeth on the input shaft
    bead blast if you can
gonna be noisey either way if you re-use it

Looks like somebody used water as a lubricant. Those gears look really rough. Clean em up and bead blast them to see if they are even useable.

Yep. Without it, you'd have to drop the cluster gear into the case to get the input shaft and bearing out.

T-86AA and T-90J's have that machined area as well. Like Tim sez, rotate that flat area down over the cluster to slide the input shaft out without dropping the cluster. I agree with the not so good looking gear.
