ewww! I really like that color. what is that color exactly? It's a nice retro blueish green to me. :) I'm painting my 84 CJ7 Gray and I'm thinking about going blue on my CJ5 - But that will be in a distant future for the CJ5. Really like that color.

Also, off topic, but I was born in Tulsa, OK so I'm an Okie at heart. I still have a lot of family there. Nice place to live. Looks like you live across the street from my aunt and uncle.... no, jk, but maybe you do....

it came from a 94 ford festiva. Wasn't my first choice but it was free paint. When I was re-working the body I welded up all the holes, replaced floor boards, bondo'd dents etc, stripped all three of the previous paint layers on every bit of the body I could get to with out removing the body. A family friend who has partial owner ship of a body shop and built his own hot-rod shop in his back yard offered to paint my jeep for free after I got it ready. When I found how much automotive paint was ( I was on a shoestring budget) he said he would find some leftover paint at his body shop and it would be no problem. Anyway this is what he found but I liked it then and there are some similar colors being put on new jeeps today.

If I had a chance to do it over I would probably go more traditional, maybe red or yellow, but it is what it is.

Any way here is a link to similar colored 94 festiva. I don't know the color number.

As far Tulsa goes- small world! How long did you live here? The suburbs around Tulsa all look the same, but I am down south in the hills near Jenks.

Yeah, I really like that color though. One of a kind!

I was born in Tulsa, grew up in Claremore - moved to TN when I was 8. I have family in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, and Sallisaw(near fort smith Arkansas). My cousins went to Union High school. I've heard of Jenks. Think Jenks and Union have a pretty good rivalry in HS Football. Both have pretty good football teams.

Thanks for the link on the paint color. I will add that to the list of possible paint choices in the future.

Jenks is on the Arkansas River. My wife and I ride our bikes along the river trails around there. It's very nice. We went to a Reckless Kelly concert there last August.

That may be understatement of the week! Jenks and Union fans are like OU/Texas fans in the fall. They hate each other. I graduated from Union, but I am in the Jenks district now, so my kids give me a hard time.

LOL, yeah. My cousins husband played football at union in the mid and late 90's. Lots of college and some future NFL talent between those 2 high schools. Haven't ever been to any of the games, but their stadiums are larger than some small colleges I've been to.

Thanks. Didn't turn out like I would've wanted really. I wanted the back to be high enough for passengers in a light roll but not be banging their heads on the trail. It's not very strong this way and I may grind it off and run em' differently.

    That's what I'm talkin' about!!!

I'd love to see a front shot of those seats. Is that an OEM seat color scheme?

    Are the tires 215 85 16's?

It only had a driver's seat when I got it and there wasn't much left of the fabric. But there was enough to ascertain the original color scheme and the stitching style so the upholsterer was able to match them pretty closely. They came out nice but my only complaint (if I had to have a complaint) is the vinyl he used is too soft, almost like a leather feel. I'd rather have thick plasticky vinyl like the original. But I really can't complain, he did a beautiful job.

    Here's a front shot.

Yes the tires are 215/85/16. I decided to go with a radial, not sure why I guess it just seemed like the thing to do at the time. I like the way they look even though the aren't authentic.

    sweet, thanks!

Yeah, the radials ride well. I'm running the same size, too. Might go with the 225's next time.

Sweet. Another reason to make me want to put a rollbar in mine, I love those bikini tops. Did you paint the "JEEP" embossed logos on the side or did you use decals? I used decals on mine but I am not 100% happy with them and wish I had painted (they look great from a few feet away but close up and you can tell they are stickers.)

I painted the letters on the sides, but used a sticker for the "4 wheel drive" on the tailgate.
I tried using a roller to just get the tops of the lettering covered, but had to freehand the final finish coat as a roller didn't lay enuff paint down.
Not perfect, but I like the contrast it gives.
I used Rustoleum "hammered silver" on the roll bar, seat frames and grab handle for a little accent too.

Great looking jeep. Where did you get those wheels? I have 2 from the '70s and I'm looking for 2 more.

Here is me and my 1974 , me and my dad built it (this pic was taken in 1994)

dad bought it in 1979, And raced it , then i bought it in 1990 , and put it back on the street.

    It had a 304 , we blew that put a 401, in it , blew that , then put a 350,400 turbo,
It has the 350 in it in the pic.

Steel late model double hump heads , was a solid 396 hp

Will post pics of the 1971 renegade I when i can move out of the shop , So i can take some good pics of it

And If You ever wanted to see DOT terras, vs non DOT, ...The front tires are DOT, and the rear are non DOT

The letters are raised on the DOT, and the non didnt have raised letters, and the actual tread (each check mark and zigzag tread width) on the DOT was about a 1/8 inch narrower ,then the tread on the non DOT
