Well, once i was done with the side job, I got a GREAT phone call saying that my steering and drive shafts were done. Once I cut the excess ubolt off the fronts, the tie rod will lay perfectly across the top and clears my pitman arm like a dream. Also, my rear drive shaft is....well....short! The entire barrell had to be removed to get the aquired length. Here are a few pics.
Also, my brother in law gets all my brake line adapters and fittings tomorrow and is going to sand blast my brake unit which looks awful upon delivery. Very corroted and nasty lookin so i get a free sand blast and paint job for free just because he says he is tired of looking at it haha.

Sand blasting and paint for free! That's priceless! Nice work. Looks like you are getting close to being ready for the rubicon - Lucky guy

Thanks! its been a learning experience to say the least. Soon as i can put it in gear and stop under its own power, i will be taking it to La Grange, our local OHV park for a shake down run. Do a full day of wheelin on everything that place can throw out me, in which case i will be posting lots of pictures and videos of his first trip. If all is well, then we will be ready for the con!!!

got a few hours worth of work on the jeep today. Got the YJ brake unit mounted up (which was WAY more a pain in the behind as I had thought), all my brake lines, fittings and adapters I need came in as well. Also was able to bore out my pitman arm to fit the toyota rod end and got the steering all buttoned up. Went to hook up my rear drive line just to see what it looks like and ran into a snag. I paid $100 bucks A PIECE for the d300 yokes with the toyota bolt pattern which said that BOTH the large and small yota drive shaft pattern would work. the yokes do have 2 seperate bolt patterns but I can not seem to line up the 4 drive line yoke holes to 4 holes on the tcase yoke. Will pull yoke tomorrow and match up outside the jeep to see if it will bolt up. If not....Im royally screwed. Pics to come tomorrow.

After a few hours of researching...Im going to have to redrill my tcase flanges to get the funky 4runner-v6-cv bolt flange pattern that my current drive shafts have. That sucks.

Got my drive shaft flange issue worked out. Here are a few pictures.

    Some pics of ther steering.

YJ brake unit all bolted in place.

Here are some pics of the tcase drive flange. You can see from the first pics that the holes that lined up the CLOSEST were over lapping just a smidge. So I clamped them together and used an air tool with a bit to router the holes open more.

And here is the front drive line bolted up. Fit perfectly and wanted to check to see actual slip once all bolted up. What do you think?

Buddy, you have NO IDEA!!!!...well maybe you do since you did yours....same with BKD. Thanks for the compliments!!! All i got left is install my clutch fork, fill with fluids and wait for my brother in law to finish up my brake lines and fittings. Oh and do any of you know the thread # for the stock saginaw manuel gear box nut for the pitman arm? I lost mine.

I'm worried with the shackle angles , .whats the angle on that ? is the rear the same ? the springs are almost flat without 250 lbs of gear if you fill up the jeep for the con they will be sacked .I would also bend up another tierod to bring with you . [IMG]

thanks mike for the nut size!!! I will be bending my stock tie rod and bringing it with me. I will also be adding some guessets if i have the room. Here is a better pic of the rear shackles. Fronts are at 37 degrees and the rear are 45.

Jeep has been loaded down with crap including a spare 35 inch swamper and it really didn't move that much. I may have my buddy (6'3 and a solid 280) sit on the very back and see where they go.

No problem Mark, I happen to have an extra manual steering TRE laying around. I'll pack it for August, never have too many spares.
