I'm about to make top end purchases; intake, cam kit, and maybe rocker assembly. Roller rockers definitely have appeal but I wonder if they are worth the extra expense in a non race motor. A quick look on TA Performance has the assemblies for $599.

Is there a big performance boost? What about reliablity/durability of stock vs roller? The plan is:
    Offy Dual plane intake
    PJIII EFI
    Comp Cams 260H

I ran rollers in my fishing boat but then again I was turning 7000rpm. For a jeep I don't really think its necessary unless you are run big cams with lots of lift and seat pressures. I would spend the money elsewhere.

Well the 260 has a peak rpm of 5400 and peak lift of .454 vs say the 252 of 4800 rpm and .438 lift. Is that enough to matter?

I was running standard adjustable lifters with a 290 @.050 with .650 lift cam. It wasn't until I broke .700 lift I went to roller parts in this.

Me thinks thats a bikini fishin boat...

I have the roller set from Kenne Bell - while they are real nice, and one of the reasons I am over 310 in torque, they were originally put on the motor as it was built for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and had one of the wild Kenne Bell CAMs in it (don't remember which one right now). But then this thing has a windage tray, steel crank, forged pistons and rods, etc... Not sure it would be worth it otherwise.
