Tire carrier reproduction. These are as elusive as unicorns. So built my own.

Did your other yellow Renegade come with one to model off of?

No, he said it had one when I contacted him but it was not the correct style. I found a Kayline version at a 4x4 wrecking yard (Olympic 4x4). Also was able to get detailed measurements and photos from a fellow local Renegade owner. Thanks Bert if you still check in!

It's kind of a cross between the OE and Kayline. With the inverted "U" and the vertical supports on either side. I can now build them as needed and whichever way.

I had already figured on making others and selling them. Still need to figure out, fab up the latch. Not sure what I'll ask for them when done. I didn't really pay attention to time and materials on the first one.

Hey, I know of another Renegade I project that needs a carrier nearby, so just pay attention on time and materials on that one and you should be able to come up with a price. ;)

The mods deleted my reply to this thread. It was similar to yours, except I didn't use the "wink" emoticon.

He actually has two of the R1's. That's what I was referencing. He still has one more to build for himself.

Let me clear the air publicly. This happens quite often, a member fabricates something great and others want to buy it. Other members post they have something similar, and then others want to buy theirs too. Before you know it, a build thread turns into a "Classifieds Ad" and it goes off topic. We moderators try to keep classifieds in classifieds. The best practice is, when you see something you would like to buy, PM the OP and discuss privately. Another option is to place a Want To Buy in the Classifieds. Finally, the OP could start a separate thread stating they would like to produce these for others, and they could be added to the vendor list.

No harm was done in this thread, it was simply being kept on topic.
