So I have been hunting for a waggy front axle to swap in the YJ. I have been thinknig lately about just getting chromoly's for the front axle and living with what i have since i already geared it to 4.88s. For the price of the waggy axle and the gears to upgrade to match and other things you have to rebuild while there, it looks a bit more econimcally feasible to just upgrade shafts. I dont beat on the jeep much and the 4cyl is not going to kill things much. I will end up with a locker in the front at some point. I am running 35s but i am going to stick to that size and not go bigger.

I am curious out of all the brands which is better and what is the worst and what impression wise you had with the upgraded axles.

I ran Yukon Choromoly in my CJ's 30 for 5 years with 4.56, locked and a 91:1 crawl. That was with a fuel injected 258. I only broke one outer and that was my fault. I had a rock wedged in the passenger wheel well and was too stupid to back up. Otherwise that axle never had an issue.
