No, 76'-79' AMC 20 11" backing plates have a different offset built in than the Dana 44 specific backing plates.
Late CJ5's use 2" wide springs front, and 2.5" wide springs rear. Gonna be a little custom.

Outer seal should sit flush with the backing plate when pushed in by bearing retainer.
Parts might be hard to come by. Saw that Tom's bronco had a few that I thought were priced pretty reasonably, $325-$345 complete.
