      You cold clean up that steering a bunch, I'd add a flat plate bolted to the floor on the inside and welded to the stering column end. then a brass bearing in the end of the steering column with the first Universal joint tucked up nice and tight on the firewall. shaft out to box. That manual box isn't bad, (I have it that way on my 3b). I'd make the mounting bracket heavier. Put a stock steering wheel back on.

      @windyhill I have a tilt column, new shafts, U-joints, and supports in a box in the garage. I cleaned up the manual box and it looks good. No play or slipping in the box. :) The firewall/floor sheet metal was just slotted really big to move the column from where it was to where it is now. I'm not very good at welding the old sheet metal (yet), so getting that portion of the firewall all closed up will be a challenge. I still need to do some measuring to fabricate a plate to support the bottom of the new column.
