    Call Walck's and ask them the brand of their parts. Virtually every Jeep parts place sells at least SOME offshore stuff, better to ask up front so you aren't disappointed.

    I ordered some 2 weeks ago. The bearing races were backordered but they only took an extra week to get to me. The parts seemed decent enought to me, and don't leak at all yet

    Never bought kingpins, but have gotten lots of stuff from them over the last couple years, always great service and great items IMO.

    Yep, I always call Carl first when looking for something. I bought my bearings locally though. Timken does make all the bearings and races you would need and I want to say Carl likes to sell all Timken

    Ditto. I bought mine at the bearing store and yes, Carl likes to sell Timkin.

    Got all my bearings from napa went with the oversea parts from japan about half the price of Timken but they seemed nice enough. Only time will tell though.

    When I got stuff from him in the past he would give me 2 prices, one for import and 1 for US. I usually asked him which would you use if it were your Jeep and he gave an honest answer.

    i used walks to build the steering on an m38. still offshore stuff. shaft bushings did not fit, but they didn't fit from anyone else. had to turn some out myself. bearings & tie rod ends were ok, worm shaft had a couple of tight spots but nothing that you couldn't live with considering where it came from. at least carl called a few days later to ask how the worm had worked out, i think he was holding his breath. they have very good customer service, but parts are parts as far as jeeps go anymore. i think i only made $.50 an hour on that job due to parts quality.

    Some parts you only have one choice for and others you can shop brands. Bearings is one you can shop

    I put new bearing in one side of the 2a last month and got them from bearing 2000 .com they were like 6 something for the bearing and 3 something for the race. A better deal than I could find at any jeep parts or flaps store. HTH fdpwr2a

    Side question, about Walck's;

    I see he sells a wiring harness for a DJ3A. Is this a correct, pretty much restoration-quality harness? Would you guys recommend it for my '63 daily driver DJ's "budget restoration"?

    As to Walck's, I'm glad they are in the business, and they seem like good people.

    But it is definitely necessary to "check" the parts. I ordered an air horn and the rubber flex tube to the air-cleaner. Both were shoddy junk, very poor repro and almost unusable. Plus I could have had good used originals from ebay at the same price.

    Thanks. I may just make my own replacement harness.

    Any other opinions on Walcks' wiring harnesses?
