Make sure they are worth a sh*t before you trust your vehicle on them...Luckily I was beside it and not underneath it..

Good advice Jason. I do have a few cheaper ones, but any time I'm getting underneath I use some top of the line 6 ton units

Is that first one bent up or is the pic angle?

I don't like getting under any vehicle with my jackstands. I do it but never am comfortable.

    Yeah it collapsed inward

It was def. not quiet mehh I had to sit down and take a couple beer break on the garage couch and stare at it for a minute. If it hadn't fallen forward also I would have been able to shut the garage door and call it a night.

Lemme guess, Harbor Freight? I've got 2 pair just like em. Thanks for the warning. I think if I was in your shoes, Mr. Harbor Freight would have to have them surgically removed from his colon.

Man Jason, you are one lucky sumbi**h! Glad you are OK.

I always back up my jack stands with either my floor jack or a stack of 4x4 cribbing. Never had one fail, but I also don't like tempting fate!

    Glad your ok Jason!!!

This is one of those cases where the made in China logo really screams don't trust me. I use a set of old ones I have had for 25+ years that were cheapies when I got them but they are pretty stout compared to what you get nowadays

I've had one of the old 'split tube' types break and collapse. Surprising at the time

I think you have to take ratings on the cheap Chinese gear with a grain of salt. I bought 2 pair of the 12 ton rated HF stands on sale, for about $30 a pair. They also come in 3 ton and 6 ton, for somewhat less, but you want the heavier ones. The HF stands have a pretty good reputation AFAIK.

I've been happy with my 2 sets of Crapsman HD high lift stands. Cost a bit more, but definitely worth it.

I had an old stamped steel one that was my fathers collapse under my trailer.
