I'm at a loss.... this Jeep will not stop boiling over. Electric fan now too, a permacool, moves a ton of air... NOPE. New water pump with the rebuild, NOPE. Runs 220 down the road with the fan on and cool air rushing in... get to a stop and PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHISLDFJ KSDJKFJGB everywhere... What do I do now? Rad cap is 7 lbs. Thanks.

If I remember from a picture you posted before, you were using one of those link belts.
If you still are it is proboley slipping. The angle on the sides of the belt is what does the driving.
Replace it with one made for you engine.

did you have your radatior boiled and rodded out? Is you cap new? On my m38 the radatior has not been touched but it still cools just fine.

Ugly thought, but, check for air bubbles coming up in rad, could be bad head gasket or a crack somewhere allowing combustion gasses to get into cooling system.
    Still a 134?

have you tried changing out the thermostat ? even if it was new when rebuilt it could have been bad from the start. Get the facotry tempurature one also. And if you play with different temp stats remember lower temperature doesnt always mean a cooler engine. The coolant needs to stay in the radiator to get cool.

I had the same problem until I replaced my thermostat. Boil the new one first to make sure it opens all the way.

I have a 160 in my engine, and the engine likes running 175.

Andy, it's an electric fan now, but it could be the water pump. Hot rod friend Cletus looked at it and said put a lot of tension on the belt, which I did and it still boils. I will, however get a rubber belt now, thanks.
The t-stat is new but replacing it may be a good idea. It's gotta work though because obviously it's getting to the radiator to boil out. The cap is new, recore in the radiator, i'm almost thinking a new aluminum radiator with 3 rows. The old cores in my rad were brittle and falling apart, the fins were half gone. What cap pressure should I be running anyway?

Doc, did yours overheat as well?
I've never been so frustrated with it... i spat on it when i walked away. After dieing while off roading with that cute girl and now this... ugh.

Could itb e the lack of a shroud? I have the fan so it's right at the core though... My old fan was 4" away or so from the rad with no shroud

What about the direction of the fan? Is it pulling air or pushing?

it's on the back of the radiator (inside the bay) being a puller. But, it doesn't have a shroud so I'll fab one upp

    X2 on the air.
You can drill a 1/8 in the T stat to let the air by pass.

    Easy and done.
Alright since I'm tired as heck and heading back out in a few after dinner, I'll ctrl c ctrl v from the local forum my discoveries of tonight
"...As I drained it tonight the brown sludge that came from the engine petcock didn't look good at all, T stat was covered in it too... So was the last 1/8th of the radiator.
I'm looking into flushing it for now and I'll make a shroud tomorrow..."

sounds like a clogged rad. u might want to think about replacing it anyway since you mentioned the fins are brittle?
sludge in the rad + brittle fins... i think you have it pretty well narrowed down.
