I bought this from an estate auction... it is a 1966 CJ 6 (per serial #). It's a V6. 14600 miles on it, one owner. With Meyer plow.

I can't find too much else out on it... what model, value? any one have one? Is this a Meyer hard top?

I hope to restore it, put some bigger tires 33's or smaller, maybe a little 2" lift...

New to this site, I like it, great info, and sharing...

    thanks in advance.

That a nice looking six. Gonna make me cry. CJ6 is merely an extended CJ5. 20" in the passenger compartment added. Do a search on this site and you will find much info. Also, any shots of the interior, seats, dash, etc. Might be nice to see some unmolested JEEP pics. Especially if it is a one owner with low miles.

Also, check out Boyinks site. Welcome.

The model is CJ-6. Value, well, that's a tough question. If she runs and drives, and in that condition, certainly more than $1000 but less than $10,000.

Several of us have one. Mine is my second.

Not sure when production started, but domestic production ended in 1975. They are a bonafide model of Jeep, just like the CJ-5 or CJ-7. They were all factory built, just like you see them now. They share parts with the CJ-5, except those parts needed for the extra 20" of wheelbase (frame, body tub, etc). The factory built the bodies by splitting the CJ-5 panels and inserting a 20" long filler panel, as ytou can likely see by inspection.

The cab is not a Meyer, at least not one of the most common design. The CJ-3B page has a nice article on hard cabs - take a look there and compare your cab with those pictures.

Mike Boyink's blog has some interesting pictures of other CJ-6s. I'd give you a link but you can google it as easily as I can.

    Welcome from Boston!

First year was 1955 sometime after the CJ-5 was introduced.

Domestic sales ended in '75 though, they were export only '76 until '81 when the Scrambler debuted.
