I am 5’10 and 200 pounds. When I go gas to brake in first my leg won’t pass between the wheel and the shifter. To make matters worse, I have a non operational right foot the makes me have to put a spacer on the floor to switch pedals. I am thinking about heating the shifter and bending it over about 4”. Lowering it would work but then the wife can’t reach the shifter. Seat is all the way against the fender but it doesn’t need to go back, need to be where I am for the clutch. I know this topic has probably been beat to death but I am curious if there is another path. Thanks

Gas and brake with the right foot, clutch with the left. My ankle and toes don’t go up but I can push down. If I lift the heal about 2” I can then work the right pedals

You can bend the stalk. Use an oxyacetylene torch. I would remove the shift top and make a pattern to bend to, out of the Jeep.

What steering wheel are you running?
There are a plethora of aftermarket wheel sizes and dishes. Perhaps a change to something that gives more room in conjunction with a modification of the shift cane would ease the issue.

My uncle in law has a prosthetic right leg, it's interesting when he gets a new vehicle and doesn't have the throttle adapter to the left yet.

Would a shifter mounted hand throttle make it any easier?

I just swapped to a 14" wheel and what a difference it makes, not expensive either. I was feeling kinda trapped and claustrophobic with the stock wheel, feels good now. I have PS tho, probably wouldn't go to a smaller wheel if I didn't.

This sounds more like you have a car 4 speed (muncie or saginaw) that locates the shifter over in front of the fuel tank.

Definitely not a factory T14 shift cane and your transmission tunnel has been modified. T14 is a 3 speed.

Looks like a T18 lid. Hard to tell looking through the wheel.
Would love a clear pict of the top of the transmission........

The other option here is a tilt steering column. You will find a lot of threads on that here too if you do a search. If you do have a car type 4 speed shifter, you need a 3 to 4" off set to make them work well. If you are lucky and have a Hurst with the bolt-on shifter, that is pretty easy to do.

That shifter is way off, that thing is twisted several inches off. What kind of seats are those, don’t look factory.

Bestop seat. factories were too far gone. I have lowered the mounting about 2" for under the wheel clearance and to keep my head from rubbing the bikini top. I had an intermediate year ago with a T14 and it wasn't an issue. Of course the seat position is more to the drivers side with the Saginaw set up but not that much. New motor mounts btw. And why 4 low...steep garage :D. I am changing the transfer case yokes to 1310 and it keep stuff from spinning. Honestly, the foot makes me have to raise my leg quite a bit more. The ankle just hangs, no up or down. But it was this way when I had the intermediate. With the shifter in 3rd clearance is fine. I plan to bend the shifter where first is in the 3rd space, about 4-5". Oh, and it is a T14. I have had the inspection plate off to get the back up lights going. 6 bolt lid, syncro all 3 gears

The intermediate seating position is maybe 4-5" further to the left. Saginaw steering puts the column further outboard. Transmission is in the same place.

There were several different shifter stalks for the T-14 from the factory. The only difference is the length and angle, AFAIK. They should all be interchangeable.

The stalk bending with heat is done routinely in transmission swap applications.
