I know the common procedure is to replace the driver side manifold with a rear dump manifold when going to power steering. i am guessing there has been that have made the original manifold work. Could you post up some pics of the 225 exhaust with front output and saginaw conversion.

I don't have personal experience, but these photos are from my Dad's flatfender. It's got factory Jeep V6 mounts welded to original frame, front dump exhaust and Saginaw Steering.

The steering box itself is mounted even height with the frame:

He used a pillow block on the motor mount and a low profile steering U-joint like this (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fla-fr1906) to snake between the fuel pump and exhaust pipe.

It's a tight squeeze but has been that way for 40 years. Here's the U-joint. He made a heat shield to protect it from the exhaust:

It wasn't really possible to get a picture of the pillow block.

    Thanks
I am 80% done with my power steering swap. I am just trying to get a mental image of what it looks like before i start making my motor mounts and visualizing the space that the exhaust and steering shaft will occupy.

Here are some pics of my set up. I have a 198, but I think the manifolds are the same as the 225. Basically my steering column drops down and then runs parallel to the frame rail directly under the manifold. The exhaust kinks toward the passenger side and makes a u turn, running next to the oil pan and then exiting out the back.

This is what I did, there was some trickery going around the T-case as it is routed down the passenger side but inside the frame. I can get picks of that also if some one want them. This was to keep as much heat as possible away from the fuel lines and hyd clutch.

Did you need to do anything to help strengthen the motor mount where you made the relief cut?

I did not, there was enough metal left in the mount I felt is was unnecessary. My motor mount configuration is a little odd as to when I put this thing together 20+ years ago for my dad it had a Iron Duke/SR4/300 in it that I had lying around. Hence the late model CJ motor mount towers. I believe the stock V6 ones might offer a little more room than what I have.

I modified the manifold to clear the steering shaft on my jeep.
