    ‘59 CJ, stock master cylinder.

Ive installed discs on the front (drums staying on rear). Installed 2lb RPV on front brake line from master. I found out I need to remove an RPV from the master as my discs are dragging.

My TM does no show what an RPV looks like. I’ve searched and searched to no avail trying to find what I’m looking for. Does anyone have an image of an RPV from the OEM MC?

Lastly, can this RPV be removed with the master in place?

or, if you know of a thread that explains everything, please paste it!

    very very much appreciated

Assuming this is a stock single bore master cylinder you need to get an inline 10lv rpv for the rear circuit.

The residual valve is in the spring seat at the end of the bore. I pulled it for my 4wheel disk and I should have a picture shortly...

    Awesome!!!!
Did you pull yours in place, or did you have to remove the MC?

I was able to pull mine in place due to well placed floor rot. The single circuit master cylinder has it inside the return spring of the master cylinder where the dual circuit has it on the seat of the brake lines.

I didn't have a picture on the host site I'll have to run to the garage to get one.

Here's where the residual valve is on the single circuit master cylinder:

(facepalm). Dang. How the F did I miss that. I’d read it, but missed the RPV portion. However, as that MC was different, I wasn’t sure exactly what component piece I was looking for. The diagram  Fireball posted was what I was hoping someone would have.
