They're not complicated at all... to be honest I've started up engines with them sitting on a truck tire(y)... so they can be as simple or extravagant as you like.

These are the longitudinal front suspension arms holding the axle in the frame.

His prices all seem very reasonable.

Got the frame all level to see what's up.

Whoever welded the crap on the front didn't even weld it on straight! There are frame ends available, but not this long~ so I may have to buy some 10gauge plate and make my own frame horns:(
    [IMG]

This is really going to test my fabrication skills!

This is the rear~ I cut the old bumper off, you can still see where the original bumper ends were. Luckily there are frame ends available.

I'll finish the rest of the days just putting tools away and make the shop nice n clean for whenever I get back out there~ kids are coming soon, so I really need to spend some time in the house;)

I have always wanted an early Bronco and look forward to seeing you work your magic on this one. I believe the Bronco switched from a front dana 30 to a dana 44 in 1971. If you have a dana 44 in yours it would be a down grade to switch over to a dana 30 just to get disc brakes (unlike an early cj5 in which a dana 30 is an upgrade). If the dana 30 disc brakes will switch over to your 44 then that might be worthwhile. Carry on.

Thanks Mike~ I think I'll be ok with upgrade/downgrade~ I will never use the front axle for a four wheel drive, so that I'm not concerned, I'd just soon it be a 2 WD. As long as it will roll well and even look good will be fine. I'll keep the original axle for a while, but it's pretty well worn out judging by the pinion bearing slop and worn out axle u-joints.

Agreed. The disks from the 30 should fit on the 44.

I can't guarantee that but the parts are generally compatible for Dana 30 and Dana 44 outers. You may need to move the whole knuckles over or the just the brake parts.

Hi gang, after the two day journey to Mississippi this past weekend, an 8-9 hour drive, my husband and I had the honor to meet Tim (Salashhavoc) which had a boatload of parts for sale on the ClassicBronco forum. It all started with just looking for a C4 transmission, but he wound up having a lot of parts which should help me greatly!

But I'd just like to say what I super guy he is! and his family, his wife, kids, omg, what I wonderful family!!! We were greeted like good friends and had a wonderful evening prior (his wife even invited to a steak dinner of which she is an incredibly hostess and super person) to even actually buying the parts the next morning.
There's too much to list, but one can get the idea from the pictures~ I originally was just looking for a C4 transmission, but wound up with a boatload of parts which should help greatly in my journey[IMG]

There's many more parts in the back of my truck(suspension, driveshaft, new holley carb, etc)

I pulled the intake manifold as I wanted to clean it, but wanted to inspect what's under it and quite surprised to how clean it is.

So, I'm going to head back out there and just clean up, I'll be back!!

I have a question regarding Torque converters please? I know what they are, but not a authority on em. The fella that I bought the parts from said that the engine had a flat spot upon hard take offs. He tried several different things, but he said always seemed to be there, mainly under hard accelerations as I said. He was forthcoming about this, so he came to conclusion that he may have a bad torque converter or the wrong torque converter. He says it has a mild to moderate shift kit and does shift very well. So, I believe he says it has an 1800 stall speed converter, so does it make sense that only an 1800 may not offer much in the take off, especially with 33" tires? I don't plan to have this C4 overhauled as he says it's not that old and was shifting fine until he pulled it out, but I don't mind spending money on something that may improve take off. I don't ever take off quickly anyway except in my '67 mustang! lol So what do you guys say?;)

This is what's in the engine as I had put down earlier:
302 Roller Engine, Edelbrock Performer 289 Intake & Valve Covers, Keith Black Hypereutectic 4.030 pistons, Comp Custom Grind .537 IN, .520 Exh, Lobe separation 111 degrees, RPM 800-3500, Duration at .050 206 IN 212 EXH, COMP CAM Hydraulic Roller Lifter, Retro Fit, Steel Spider, COMP Cams Aluminum Roller Rocker Arms - Rocker Arms, Stud Mount, Full Roller, Aluminum, 1.6 Ratio, Fits 7/16 in. If the cam that is in it, is building power from 800-3500 RPM, an 1800 RPM stall converter is too tall for my tastes. I'd honestly be looking at something more like 1000-1200 Stall.

It's not surprising in the least that it's got a "flat spot" on hard takeoffs with that cam/converter combination. It starts building torque off-idle, and keeps building it up through 1800, where the converter stalls, and launches. That's just a very odd combination to me, and not one I would run.

Honestly, a stock replacement converter for something like an F100(Or Bronco) would be more compatible with that camshaft.

I mean, if you wanted to get fancy, and it's not a bad option, TCI makes a pretty nice "heavy duty" towing converter for the C4 I think. But in something the size and weight of a Bronco, I'd think it's overkill.
