Nothing with the Jeep, because change of weather. Just a box to carry disinfectant for hands, covid killer.
The Jeep is good to let clothes dry.
We had summer, 77°F, then soon 27°F, and trees are in blossom, cold wind, problems with fruits this season.
So we hurried to cut the grass, before cold, rain, snow.
That was a hard day. All machines were used to make a nice garden... exhausting.
And the grass was all over, inside my boots, because already high due to hot weather!
My son, my wife, and myself are working.
During this time, my neighbor is spraying anti-virus, I hope that it works against covid.
And at night, we have workers on the railway, repairing rails.
This small railway is in use mainly for grain trains, once a day.

and before, I had to end with electricity work in the kitchen, a promise to my wife.
    Ended today, with success.
So, lot of work before bad weather.
Just enclose a picture of my grand-grand parents, from Auvergne (center of France), they were producers of farm shoes, wood + leather.
They were hard people, no healthcare, no pension... I use this picture to explain how was life before...

:bow:the early generations. My grandmother's first job was to wash the globes and refill the kerosene lamps at 5 years old. At 6 she had to go down the ladder in the ice house, chip it, haul it up in buckets for the milk cans. Then the day started...

Yes we forget fast how it was before in our countries.
To organize a better world for our children, it is good to remind them that it is a permanent fight, democracy, science, are not empty words.

I'm still hobbling around on crutches with a cast on my foot from an Achilles tendon rupture and surgery a month ago.
I did finally make it up to the shop. I drove the 63 Willys Wagon 180 feet to the shop and then rolled around in an old ex government office chair on wheels and cut the back off the CJ5 frame along with the Y brace and made room for the intermediate 15 Gallon gas tank. I built a new 3" square tube bumper while I was at it.

Installed synthetic cable on an old Ramsey winch, and modified a winch plate to match the width of the frame rails. Just need to buy a few bolts and it will sit perfectly right behind the existing bumper. BCA57FFF-77ED-4163-A1AA-0B79EBF9333A.jpeg

Took apart my spare D18. Lucky for me it had a 1.25" intermediate shaft. Its sacrifice will not be forgotten.
These are the gears (besides a bronco gear) to make a 2.46 D20. I'll also be swapping over to a tapered roller bearing also.

My low range is around 62:1 and with the new gear set, it'll be around 76:1.

Edit: Ordered the bronco gear and tapered bearing intermediate shaft kit.

Something else I've been wanting for some time now is a flanged FF axle (D23-2) like my old GPW had. I'm placing an order for some parts. I have half the parts needed already so once my spindles are machined and I order axle shafts we'll be in business. :cool:Another reason for this is my current axle shaft(s) appear to be slightly bent, the splines are worn to a sharp point, and one is incapable of holding a wheel stud since the hole is completely wallowed out.

Today was a good Jeep day. I got a new cowl lower welded onto my Renegade and mounted my 67 plates on my tux. Massaged the front tux bumper for better fit and waxed the hood

The red 78 that was farmed out to me is now running and moving under it's own power and stopping with it's own brakes. Waiting for the shop that gave me the work to place a large parts order for seats, brackets, radiator and a bunch of other smaller items.

Those trains all come right past me in Alta Ca. They leave the Bay Area and then Roseville Ca. is a huge Railroad Yard, Then they head past me and over Donner Summit and all across the Country.

I put water in the windshield squirter bag, replaced a cracked hose, and it works! I always just assumed it wouldn't. 46 years old and it just works.

I pulled this gasket off of my drivers side manifold.
I'm out of replacements and too cheap for copper so it just steel on steel now. Seems quieter now than with this gasket.

Edit: 4yr old also helped put in some seatbelts. Boy it's nice having an extra set of hands when the %#& top side wrench comes off the bolt.

Why you need to check the distributor before monkeying with the carb. Just don't understand why 46 years is the limit for theses things ...I had a rebuilt spare fortunately.

5 weeks after his TPLO surgery, Bodie is in good enough shape for his first Jeep trip. It's been a long time so the whole family when for a celebration ride in the '69.

    Bodie was pretty excited:

Put on some new shoes 235/85/16 nankang mud terrain. They are about an inch taller and skinnier than the fierce attitudes they replace.[IMG]
