Transport truck I made from an old corgi garbage truck. Too expensive to buy and they dont make one for a 1/64 car anyway. Not perfect by any means but a reasonable facsimile.

Fought the voltage regulator for a while. I ended up pulling the dash. I replaced the solenoid and sketchy headlight switch while in there because it is so hard to get to. I now have high beams and the electrical gremlins seem to have subsided. I really didn't find anything other than somewhat corroded connectors which were replaced. I also replaced a leaking fuel shut off along with cleaning the silt out of the fuel tank.

The test drive. My inspector in charge thinks it's ok.

Put the blade back on and went over to the nearby construction site. Smoothed out some dirt and was amazed at what this little machine can do.

    And the fun continues.
We don't get much snow in Texas. Here is a link to a video clip of my 154 starting to work our block.

Taryl says I should use candle wax on the blade to prevent snow from sticking.

Again working with my hands, the idea is to make a better kitchen for my wife.
I promised this years ago, but the pain with arthritis stopped me.
I now adapt to my problems, less work, take time, and it goes on.
just one week to do what I used to do in 2 days...
having no pain is nice, and works advance in calm.
I use a welder mask to cut wood, because these saw benches are quite aggressive, and can project parts!
    Better to take care.

Well, thanks... but the cold days are away, at the contrary it will not be hot, but good weather now, we plan to cut the grass with the lawnmower on Sunday!
But yes, I'll prepare something for the next cold days; maybe they'll come back in 1 month... We never know nowadays.
I just have a friendly thought for people frozen in Texas, obviously they will have to adapt, if/when a cold period like this comes again.
Places with never low temperatures are not prepared for this. Same problem in France, in south.

M416 Trailer project. It's honestly in mostly good shape most of the work is going to be knocking the rust off and repainting/restenciling

Got the bent lip of the tailer tub mostly straightened out with the hilift a couple of clamps, a 2x6 and a cinderblock. Got the fenders bashed back straightish. Even the one with the badly rolled edge. And got the tub off the frame.
Not going to worry about a few dents or it not being perfectly straight. Just a few testaments to it's 54 years on Earth.

I find old wagons or buy them for a little bit of nothing. Then I fix them up or make a shelf out of the body. Finished this Yerf Dog yesterday.

    The Stupid Thing!

As you may have read elsewhere, my 9yo daughter has been dreaming of building a “stupid thing;” a pedal powered buggy with a pillow for a seat and “throw a brick off the side” for a brake. I talked her into building something a little more practical. I had nothing but her old 16” bike, a small chair, and a pile of tubing from an old above-ground pool to work with, so I ran to the one local thrift store that always has bikes and grabbed two more 16” bikes for $5/piece.

I tried hard to make it 4-wheeled, but I just couldn’t swing it without a lathe or spending a ton of money. So we went with the 2-front 1-rear layout.

I started chopping up bikes and came up with a plan.

Then just had to connect point A to point B.

I encouraged my daughter to help weld, since this is her project. She laid her first beads! She’d get excited and start going too fast, but she was definitely intrigued. I’ll have to have her try again on some heavier plate; this thin tubing is tricky.

I had to connect 3 chains together for enough length, so we’ll see how welded bike chain holds up.

For the steering, I used tie rod ends from an old 4-wheeler, and I made knuckle arms from Isuzu Rodeo hood hinges, with proper Ackerman angle, of course. :)
(And this is exactly why I can never chuck anything.)

My first test ride ended with me on the floor.:D

After the mechanics are done, then we can mount all the crap she wants on it... front basket, rear chicken roost - so her favorite hen, Taco, can ride with her...
I’ll post back after it’s complete.

I loved bike projects...the 20" tandem I built for the kids as they were kinda young yet. My boy did a lot of work on the quadcycle:

I see plenty of room for a predator engine or something with a gearbox. :sneak:

My hidden agenda was to give the kids a way to burn off energy...;)

We lived on bikepaths at the time. That was a decade and several states ago...not sure what you can get away with on those paths now.

you can punch out the pins to combine the chain properly. Put a small nut down on the workbench and lay the chain over it punch each pin through to release the top plate. The welded joins should hold up but its good to know how to do it proper

I made a dauntless patch it came out pretty good for a first try. It was fun although I wouldnt want to do it again. I just used a regular sewing machine with zig zag. I think im going to put it on a hat although its a bit big for that. Might have to make one a little smaller.
