    Hi,
I would like to add a 2" receiver to the front bumper of my jeep.
My winch is on a 2" receiver and would like to mount it on the front.
Are there any bolt on options? I don't want to weld into the frame.

If I can't find it then my thoughts where to weld a Harborfreight 2" receiver to a rectangular tube. Then bolt it under the tow hooks in the front.

    Thanks

How strong is your front bumper?

About a million. If I was bolting one up with an adaptor as you suggest, I'd want to support it fore-and-aft, more than side to side. But maybe you could get away with sandwiching the front bumper, with a heavy reinforcement angle iron or channel iron inside of it. Depends on the load you expect it to see.... is this for a bass boat, or a backhoe?

This is probably the same as the Harbor Fright model.

Hey 2500HD, As others before have said, there are several options depending on how much load you will be putting on the hitch. I have a pop-up camp trailer that I tow with my truck, but I use a front mounted hitch on my Jeep to "drive" the trailer into a very tight spot in my camp in the Sierras. I bought the following bolt-on receiver hitch from Etrailer.com and it works great for me. Last weekend I even pushed a 30-something foot long, double-axle Airstream trailer into a tight spot for a friend. It was a little heavy for the stock jeep bumper and this bolt-on hitch, but it worked and did no damage to my bumper!

This hitch requires no drilling. It clamps around your bumper with 4 bolts and is easy to take on and off. I would NOT recommend this for winching heavy loads.
