anyone ever use them? I'm looking at the dual pot kit for disc/drum, but I'm wondering about the make of the MC. Is it Wilwood, or Omix? THey aren't answering my emails. Search turned up nada. Thanks

Yea, my bad, Kaiser Willys. I assume they make the brackets and so forth but I want to know who they source their master cylinders from. That's a hefty price for a Chinese MC

Pretty sure that kit at KW is herm’s. Compare the pics of each. Those are not Wilwood master cylinders.

I thought they looked awful similar. I'm not saying I need a wilwood cylinder, just don't want garbage.

I believe kw sources their kit from Herm. As others have said, I'm sure he will tell you or sell you just the bracket.

I used his kit and sourced my own mc. I was happy with the conversion.

    Glad you are happy.
There are easier/better conversions out there but his seem to work fine. His were “inspired” by another conversion.
The one I’m thinking of requires drilling 3-4 holes in the frame. The bracket itself is the pattern to drill the holes. Uses Wilwood master cylinder and components for mc mount or remote mount reservoirs. Replacements easily sourced with no mystery parts. Comes with everything needed but the drill, bit, and modified hard lines, and does not require proprietary banjo fittings.
Available for flatties, CJ’s, Wagons, and Pickups. A better designed bracket with little to no flex if I do say so myself.

Know where I can find a link? Herm responded and after his response I wouldn't buy a cup of coffee from him. Apparently he thinks I am trying to procure the model number (though I only asked for the manufacturer) in order to steal his intellectual property. Is he always so paranoid? He also threw in a personal insult.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I have been pointing people to Herm for some time, but I have never bought anything from him..

I find it humorous that he feels that this product is his intellectual property. the definition of intellectual property is ,

    1. a work or invention that is the result of creativity, such as a manuscript or a design, to which one has rights and for which one may apply for a patent, copyright, trademark, etc.

Considering that he did not design or manufacture the master cylinder, I find his claims of intellectual property humorous. I also find it humorous that the bracket that he has had made would be construed as intellectual property. Its a piece of bent steel with holes in it. Is the steel a fantastic proprietary alloy?

I made my own bracket years ago. It worked extremely well. does Herm think he has grounds to sue me? Or anyone else? How about my Full Float conversion I made myself, does he think he owns that idea? How about Warn who manufactured one?

      Nonsense.

His response was "Do you really think after all the research and time we took to design a special kit that I should just give a model number or application to anyone who asks. I think you fell off the turnip truck" end quote. This was after asking where he sourced his MC from. That's all. He did say he got them from centrix, if anyone else wants to do business with him. I do not.

Here it is on rock auto. 1970 CJ5 master cylinder
    More Information for CENTRIC 13063010
When I did this, I bought the master and built a bracket to hold it. Its simple mechanical fabrication. In fact it doesn't get a whole lot simpler than this.

The one thing he has is the banjo fittings. The lines out of the master cylinder are a bit cramped.

There was a kit better than Herms. R&P 4wd made it but they are gone now. I think someone else is making it. Uses a wilwood mc and it fit much better. My 53 has Herms and my 49 has R&Ps. Herm's fit tight against the bell housing. I think this subject has been :dhorse:

Well that's a disappointing response from Herm. I did go out to his site and it looks like his bracket design has changed. The one I received was just as Nick described - I used the bracket as a template and drilled 4 holes in the frame.

You can find the banjo fittings here - Banjo Adapters - BrakeConnect

Nick, do you have a link for the alternate kits?

That link above should go in a place that's accessible without an in depth search. They were not easy for me to find and would have made the installation of the frame mounted dual master much easier with the V6.
