Can you give me some more model numbers on that 2v?. I looked at some and there seems to be variants. This looks like an acceptable option. Thanks

As I was typing my last response, I was thinking sure enough somebody is going to chime in and say " I run that set up on mine and it runs like a striped *** ape" And you fell right into my diabolical trap! HAHAHA!
seriously though, I'm glad it works for you... I imagine the worst effects would be felt at high RPM, the kind of use that are Jeeps are never going to see. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it
The 1.08 throttle diameter that rattyflatty mentioned is what you'd want.

BTW, Carter AFB/Edelbrock carbs have many different CFM ratings, they are numbered in series, smallest to largest i;e:1402-1404,=500 CFM 1405-1406=600 CFM, 1407=750 CFM I suppose like anything that is purpose built, if you take it out of it's designed application, it becomes a problem. (Street car carb on an off road vehicle).Good luck!

PS Sorry Lee, I was editing when you replied.

True, but the numbers indicate more than just cfm.

Yes, the numbers indicate more than CFM, venting, fuel/float bowl entry position, float type and mounting etc. are common to all in this series, which are inherent in their design, and not easily overcome. Some amount of improvement can be realized with jets, metering rods, float levels etc. Good luck!

Sorry I didn't mention what I'm running. It's a Motorcraft 2150. I can get a few pics if needed in a few days. I'm San Francisco till Friday for work.

After looking I am running a 2100 with a electric choke and vac pull off. It has 51 main jets, single stage power valve and 1.08 venturies.

Thanks man. I have a 2100 coming. How did you get those offy valve covers to work. I sold mine because they would not clear the firewall below the heater box. Kinda wanted them to match the offy dual port I'm running now.

Some light on that subject. I did heat up the firewall and massage it with a hammer to clear on the drivers side. Also I don’t know if the motor is in the correct spot. When I put this pile of parts together about 20 years ago I had a Iron Duke/SR4/300 lying there. Needless to say I drilled the frame and used the late model CJ motor mounts then and fabbed My own when the 225 when in.

I see. I had the same idea but didn't have access with the engine in want to stay as stock as possible. Glad yours worked.

Well, I tried the Autolite 2100 and it was ok with the adapter. It just wasn't right. So, I got a Rochester 2gc. There is the answer. The offy dual port has 4 individual barrells with only a small passage at the bottom to connect the front barrells with the rear two to balance flow. The rear barrells aren't really used until the butterflies are open on all 4 barrells. The engine ran rich due to this, I think. The 2gc spreads its 2 barrells across all 4 barrells and burns the fuel more efficiency. Am I wrong? CAM00529.jpg

The dual port manifold must be different than the Offy 360 manifold. Mine is just a dual plane manifold. Pretty sure is has a small balance cut out as well.

Yes the Dual Port is different. Each runner has a splitter in it. thought is when running on the primaries the velocity of intake charge it greater due the the smaller cross section.

Here's part 2 of the carburetor switch story. I started this thread about switching out an Edlebrock 4bbl carb for an Autolite 2100 2bbl carb on a '70 CJ5. I wanted to make a similar switch on my '76 CJ5 that has a Chevy 350 with a Carter AFB. At the time, RockAuto didn't have any more of exact same 2100's, so I ordered a 2100 clone from Amazon. The carb came with an electric choke and lots of vacuum ports that I ended up plugging.

The Carter AFB on the 350:

I replaced the carb with the Amazon carb. I made a bracket for the throttle spring.

I adjusted the idle and took the jeep for a ride on the road. It seemed to work fine. I headed up to some old tailings piles on the side of the mountain. I climbed and descended the steep pilings and the carb worked well. With the AFB, the engine would have flooded and stalled.

I took a picture in front of the foundation of the old Hercules mill.

In 1912, this location looked like this.

A couple days later, ITLKSEZ and I drove the jeep around. Other than the tailings pile, I haven't taken the jeep on 4wd trails. I'd rather head out with buddy jeep in case of technical difficulties, but so far, the carb works well.

Can confirm. The $90 clone seems to work great!

You drove right past this one on I-90, but you were riding in an area about 20 miles from here.
