I’m in the process of doing a few things to my 60’. CJ5 and have a few questions.

I got the jeep with very little history of it and have been dealing with little issues ever since.

I put in a rebuilt engine I got from Jegs 79-84 231 to replace the very worn engine that was in it. Did research and figured out that was a match for what I had.

Purchased an edelbrock I take that matches that year according to edelbrock. The only issue I can find is it appears to block off one set of water passages. All the info I can find says it’s the right one just seems weird that it would close them off.

Just finished the RRO YJ conversion so the engine is hopefully getting installed this weekend.

If you're talking about the water passage at the back of the head, don't worry about it.

That’s exactly what I was referring too.

    I’ll ignore it then.

    Thanks.

Heads are reversible from right to left. Because of this, there are water passages on either end. The only water passages used are the "front" ones on either head to connect to the front thermostat passages of the intake manifold.
The two "back" passages on the heads are blanked off by the intake manifold.

What’s the deal with the overlapping ports. Engine was purchased through Jegs and so was intake manifold.

    Engine is 79-84 231
Intake is for 79 and up 231

According to Jegs this is supposed to block off the ports.
