    Advance Adapters makes a chain operated clutch control linkage that is highly spoke of.

    I would go with that but I do not think it would work with the way my exhaust is routed.

    The chain set up is for an early not sure if it would fit an intermediate.

    I wish they'd make that for an intermediate. Staying mechanical but better executed sounds ideal to me

    Cheap parts. The ball socket popped off on both ends. Only drove it for two days and already looks like this. The 45 year old rod looked better.:banghead:

    there is a lot of force on the rods, get some heim joints and bolts it will hold up better.

    I used the ones with a stud on them under the dash and a through bolt outside,no reason other than that's what I had on hand.

    Do you have the original pushrod? i don't have any pictures, but I used the original rod on both of my units with this setup (CJ-6 and the J-10). If you have a bench grinder, the ball joint end on the original pushrod is crimped or swaged to the rod part of the assembly. You can grind through the swaged location and that leaves a bare rod where the ball joint was. You can buy a rod end with a female thread from McMaster-Carr, and if you thread the end of the rod that you took apart with the grinder, the rod end will thread on to the original assembly. Then you bolt it to the bellcrank, adjust and you're done. I used one of the Heim-joint style "ball joint linkages" shown here: McMaster-Carr You could buy from Amazon if you prefer, but McMaster-Carr sells quality stuff and they ship fast. Stuff I order from them on Sunday is often at my door on Monday. I believe I used the rod end with the oil-embedded insert ... IIRC the CJ was a 3/8" rod (3/8-24 NF) and the J-10 was 7/16" (7/16-20 NF).

    We ended up reusing the old rod and got everything together and buttoned up. Will need to drive it a couple days to make sure its all right. Will definitely consider switching over to the heim setup. Also where exactly does the return spring on the release fork attach to? The previous owner had a much larger spring on there that goes on a hole in the frame.
