:n:I haven’t had a car payment since 2010. Well Monday evening I broke down in a ghetto in Atlanta after dark. Me and my buddy sat for 2.5 hrs in the cold and dark with .45’s firmly clutched waiting on a ride. So today I bought a 2014 2 door Jk with a 6 speed. It only has 7,000 miles on it and has a lift and 305/65-r17’s. It’s got a few things I want to change but I’m mostly gonna leave it as is. The cj6 will continue its rebuild, just at a rate of $500 less a month.:n:

If you dumped a Ranger to buy a Jeep,
    you're a winner, not a quitter(y)

This isn’t my first dip in the JK pool. I had a o8 for a while and my wife has a 2015 4 door Willy’s wheeler with a 6 speed. I was hoping to hold out a few more years and score a lightly used gladiator.

There was a moment the window came down and the safety came off. Me and my buddy were both sporting 1911’s and I felt a little undergunned. We went back last night. There was three of us all with .45’s and a micro Draco in the back. I felt ok then lol

Congrats on the Jeep. Be nice if it were under better circumstances. So many nice people in ATL and GA in general. Always sad when you have to brush with the 1% that can't elevate beyond feral tendencies.

I have no patience for inverse street philanthropists.. if put in the same position, I'd prolly be in jail for life. You likely showed more restraint, and good faith, that I prolly would have. Kudos to you. I've had one true encounter with feral humanity and the perp fled. That was enough for me to avoid cities for the rest of my life. Not that the country is devoid of feral human behavior, it just seems much easier to avoid (avoid methy areas and you avoid meth heads lol).

Congrats! Looks like a very nice unit. JK's are far from perfect but as you already know, very capable on or off road.

Being a quitter doesn’t pay off!! Dealership screwed up quoting me this fix. “Forgot to add in labor”. I met them in the middle which was $150 more than the quote. Now I’m back because I got home and it was leaking coolant! They have some 20 year old chick working the service desk so I kept my language pg-13ish but she could def see the strong R in my eyes I think. :censored::censored::censored:

Well I got thrown out of the dealership, I lost my cool.... they told me it was residual coolant on the radiator from the repair. The dealership is 15 miles from my house and when I got home it was dripping coolant not just a little residual wetness. If it were just some spilt coolant why not hose it off??? I need beer, beer and cheap Mexican food.

V6 Pentastar engine? The one with the plastic oil filter housing/oil cooler mounted under the intake manifold?
Those things have all kinds of problems. A friend has been working on one that keeps throwing a POxx code dealing with the 2 speed oil pump, and keeps going into limp-home mode. Be very carefull of the frail plastic inner "basket" the filter cartridge goes over. That whole plastic filter assembly is a POS. There are oil passeges and cooling passages all contained in the housing. One o-ring out of place, and you have puking oil or anti-freeze all over.

That really sucks. I'd hose it off yourself just to verify that you aren't making an :censored: out of yourself, and then if it is confirmed still leaking coolant, have the dealership make it right. Then go trade it in and get yourself a nice reliable willys or kaiser!:beer:

Nope I drove 15 miles and it was dripping onto my driveway. Even if it was residual why not take a sec to rinse it off?? I mean I took it to a dealer for repair for a reason. This is the dealer I bought the Jeep from. 6,000 miles on it when I bought it, 21,000 now. First trip back they stripped two lug nuts, second trip back they gouged a hole in the leather steering wheel, this time it’s “wrong quote” and coolant leaking/poured over my engine compartment. And I’ve paid all the initial repairs/service out of pocket so yes I feel justified in being an :censored: over this. I guess it was just a hard lesson. This place sucks and I’ll take my business elsewhere. I should just sell it and put the money into the cj6.
